People do it at the church I attend all the time, though normally it’s for daily mass. Since this is a holy day of obligation it’ll probably be crowded. As long as you’re not taking up room for others I don’t see the issue. Just put it at your feet.

Hello, so I want to attend Mass as it is All saints day tomorrow. However I can’t go At night. As a result, I’m going to miss some school and go right after. Can I bring a backpack to Mass? I’m concerned that it might be shady.
As long as it doesn’t set of the metal detector you should be fine.

If it does, be prepared for an “enhanced” search. (Pat down, body cavity search, etc.)

I’ve seen people bring backpacks to Mass.
I’ve attended any number of Masses with wheeled luggage after checking out of my hotel sunday morning at a conference . . .
Sad to say, that is a concern these days. But, if the OP keeps it with him, and doesn’t “leave it unattended in a corner”, it shouldn’t raise too much concern, hopefully.
One time (I forget which. Philadelphia?) actually saw enough that they invited to take it to an area where they actually had someone watching the assorted luggage, packs, and whathaveyou so that we did’t have to lug them to pews . . .
