I had some adult friends over several years bCk…they had a two or three year old. I asked what movies they had seen lately, they both answered in unison “Barney” Saddest thing I ever heard, laughed for a good 10 minutes!

I remember the Barney movie… (There is only the one, right?!) It was pretty bad… And, of course, my children liked it… “I love you, you love me, we’re a happy family, with a great big hug and a kiss from me to you, won’t you say you love me too?..” Yep, the lyrics are still firmly in my head… Scary, isn’t it?!

My grandson was into Barney 8 1/2 years ago and now my granddaughter likes watching Barney on Netflix. There is a Barney movie, but I can’t remember the name.

Adding to bad kids movies; The Good Dinosaur, not only scientifically inaccurate with dinosaurs living with humans (OK it’s a fantasy film, I get it) but incessantly violent for an animated film aimed at kids. The whole film has a western theme (with dinosaurs?) the main character’s father gets killed and he is told to kill whatever is stealing their crops to “make his mark” with the family (the dinosaurs grow crops (?) ). Later in the film another dinosaur tells a story about fighting an adversary and “drowning him in his own blood” (This is a kid’s film, right?) There is also a psychedelic drug use scene when the two main characters eat berries from a tree (Really?).

:crying: I love this film…even if the dinosaur was only partially good. The animated backdrops were incredible.

Since you asked ‘Menage’ from 1986, starring Gerard Depardieu, Miou-Miou and Michel Blanc. Truly a soul-destroying film.

One of the worst films I’ve ever seen:

The Wicker Man (starring Nic Cage)

I watched it all the way to the end, in agony, only because I couldn’t believe how bad it was and was masochistically curious to see if it would get worse and worse and…it did!

.
The sad thing is, this description makes me want to go see it just to see if it could really be that bad. 😃

It will probably never happen, though. Being married means I miss the boat on most bad movies because my wife has higher standards than I do. 😛

The original was really good, making the remake an exercise in adding insult to injury.

Honestly anything Tom Hiddleston has done minus the Thor movies. His movies have been getting worse and worse the past 6 years not to mention they’re pretty much pornography.

Just…what happened Tom:confused: Please get married and have like 4 kids and become a director or something.

I suspect further Barney viewing is in my future with grandkids. What we do for those we love!

I agree. The Good Dinosaur is another animated movie that I found to be odd. Farmer and “cowboy” dinosaurs, the kid who was like a pet and the “under the influence” scene were all strange elements of the movie and I’m sure there are others not mentioned yet.

Oh! I love that movie!
I’m sorry. I wanted to like it. The lead character visually reminded me of my daughter with her wild head of curls. But, I just found it odd after the twist in the movie. That twist was just a bit too weird for me. I only watched it once, though, so maybe there is something there. Again, I may view it again with grandkids. But, only if they want to watch. 😃
