Have attacks on Christians in Iraq escalated during the past two years, compared to the period 2003-2008? Certainly, attacks escalated after the American invasion and have continued. This is one of the major reasons why so many Christians have fled their country during the past decade.

I have doubts about the stability of Iraq, and fear that years of strife lay ahead. Apparently, the church which was attacked had been fortified, in part due to an attack in 2004, but also due to concern about a backlash to Terry Jones threat to burn a Quran.
