Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist because in order to offer Himself as a sacrifice He needed to be ordained a priest. The first step in ordination was being washed by a priest (John was a priest and prophet) Moses a priest and prophet Ordained Aaron and sons starting with washing them. Jesus’ ordination was completed in His last week of life, starting with His anointing by Mary of Bethany with the sacred oil.Why was Jesus Baptized, and where did John the Baptist get the authority?
I was also as an example for us, but that was not a requirement of the law.
Grace and peace,
Bruce
