FYI - I just looked this one up and the KJV is the most literally correct. The word translated is “episcopan”. When the word “bishoprick” had meaning, it was a solid translation. In fact, since the word “bishop” was used in translating the similar root elsewhere, this was arguably the best translation.I have a hard time understanding the slavish devotion of some Protestants to the KJV. They probably don’t know that the KJV was commissioned with a specific mandate: to emphasize the importance, legitimacy and primacy of the Episcopal hierarchy, that is, to legitimize the Church of England. That is why in Acts 1 it says “and his bishoprick let another take”, when every other translation more correctly says “let another take his office” or “'May another take his place of leadership”. There are many more examples of this agenda-pushing in the KJV.
