Would the New World Translation (J.W. Bible) be condemned? If it isn’t, I would hope it will be in the near future.

Those southern baptists give a bad name to christians. Burning bibles becuse they are not king james is idiotic. if they really think the kjv is the only valid bible then the french and german and russian and greek and polish bibles are invalid so I guess they’ll have to go convert those heathens to english and teach them to read the kjv. but on the other hand I find it very difficult to belive these hillbillys even know how to read. these people are like the nazis who burned books. maybe if these illiterate trailertrash tried reading the bible instead of burning them we as christians would not be viewed by the secular world as ignorant intolerant gaybashers. people like this makes me glade I’m a canadian. What is wrong with americans? have they no brain? don’t they realize that behavior like this and the warmongering and the worrship of money and guns is why people have no respect for america? The country with so many weapons of mass destruction then could end all life on earth is in the hands of a nation of border line illiterate gun nuts!!! be afraid!!! these lunitics don’t even have socialised heath care there is no telling what they’ll do next!!

At first when I started reading your post I agreed, although not totally, with what you said but then I kept reading and realized that you are no better then the ones you are bashing. First you bash the Southern Baptists by saying that a few bad apples are making the whole Christianity look bad. Well if you want to go there then the priests really didn’t make the Catholics look good, you know what I mean. Then you call them hillbillies, nazis, trailertrash gaybashers and if that is not bad enough you start in on American’s. See we have rights in this country, like freedom expression-here they have a right to burn the Bible even though we disagree with it its still their right. We have the right to bear arms-see its in our constitution that we have the right to protect ourselves and our governent has no right to take that away. You say that money and guns is the reason why people have no respect for America-we have had them for over 130 years and its now a problem, come up with a real reason. Yes we do have weapons of mass distruction-once again its for our protection, how many other countries have the same, lets see Russia, North Korea, and there are others who have started to develope them, so to say that America is the only one to have them, showes how uneducated you are in world matters. As far as your socialist health care system-that is being debated as we speak, but I hope and pray that is doesn’t happen. You call us lunitics and wonder what we will do next-have we harmed your country? NO. Have we make mistakes as a country? Of course, just like all countries have. I really think you need to take a good look at your self as a Catholic and ask your self, is this the way a Christian Catholic should act toward others, it this the way I as a Christian Catholic, should speak. Now if you read the Bible you will see that you, as a Christian Catholic, should love your enemies. But I can see that you can’t do as the Bible says, so in my opinion you are no better then the ones you are talking trash about. Grow up and be a real Christian Catholic and stop all your hatered towards others, you are not doing your country any good, your religion any good and your self any good.

Actually not all KJV, the New KJV and all KJV after 1611 are all Satanic also. They only acceptable the King James Bible of 1611 as the REAL and ONLY true Bible (with foreign language versions of the same Bible as acceptable).

I read through some of the info on the website, myself. I don’t think those who claim KJV-only have done enough study on the history of the transmission of Scripture. The problem is that the Christian leaders advocating KJV only–proclaim anything written to the contrary, as coming from Satan. That puts fear in the congregations—so that will not read other view points on the transmission of Scripture.

The worst thing about these folks is the bad name they give to people like me, who love the KJV and get the hives from the NIV for LITERARY rather than theological reasons! I would never burn an NIV, but might assign it a warning sticker: “For the man who needs God’s Word to read like a corporate mission statement/subdivision newsletter.”

yep your right anna. personally i love the kjv for its literary style. it is beautifully written. never had trouble understanding it. but personally for me my favorite is the douay rheims bible. has the same style, just get more of a translation from the latin vulgate that i like. also im going to try to learn latin. so i can read the vulgate.im not the brightest bulb in the batch:newidea: so please pray for me.

The KJV does have its merits. It is written in a beautiful English style. It was a great accomplishment–placing the Bible in the hands of the people in a language they understood. And devoted Christians died trying to make this possible. So, I am aware of the rich history of the KJV.
The problem is that it was translated from inferior manuscripts–mostly from the 16th Century. Since, that time, many earlier manuscripts have been discovered, shedding new light on errors in the KJV and other Bible translations.
Of course, The Dead Sea Scrolls were an amazing discovery.
Who knows what will be discovered in years to come. I think it is important to keep up with manuscript discovery.
It is the KJV *** only*** part that disturbs me.

I studied Greek, when I lived there for two years; but lack of use for about 22 years has not helped my retention of the language. Greek was very difficult for me, because the characters are different, as is Hebrew.
I keep thinking I will get back to my studies. For Biblical purposes, I would need an ancient form of Greek, as well as Hebrew, and Aramaic. Not sure if I have the energy.

I have a hard time understanding the slavish devotion of some Protestants to the KJV. They probably don’t know that the KJV was commissioned with a specific mandate: to emphasize the importance, legitimacy and primacy of the Episcopal hierarchy, that is, to legitimize the Church of England. That is why in Acts 1 it says “and his bishoprick let another take”, when every other translation more correctly says “let another take his office” or “'May another take his place of leadership”. There are many more examples of this agenda-pushing in the KJV.
