Saw this one a while ago. It’s clear he just wants to be a rock star. His pride is on display here under the guise of a sermon. His arrogance is really sad and automatically disqualifies everything he says. If he just wanted to preach against idolatry he could have done that without smashing a statue (which I think is hilarious now that I know it’s not even the Blessed Mother, haha). He only did that out of pride.

Seems like he did this in January 2003 and promised a clay statue of Jesus will be next.

Also their website has not been updated since 2005, at least the news section, does anybody know if this denomination even still exists?

Good point. Probably not.

That video broke my heart. Jesus, have mercy on him.

Holy Mary and St. Therese, pray for us.

As for Blessed Mary, keep in mind what Jesus said as part of the Fatima appraition in regards to reparation to Blessed Mary (five First Saturdays of reparation for five offenses):

Through an interior locution from Jesus, Sister Lucia said she was given to understand that this related to the five main types of offences committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary: blasphemies against the Immaculate Conception; against Mary’s perpetual Virginity; against her Divine Maternity and the refusal to recognize her spiritual motherhood of mankind; for the offences of those who encourage in the hearts of children indifference, contempt and even hatred of their Immaculate Mother, and finally as reparation for those who outrage her in her holy images.
According to Sister Lucia, Jesus further stated:
There, My daughter, is the reason why the Immaculate Heart of Mary inspired Me to request this small act of reparation, and in consideration of it, to move My mercy to forgive souls who have had the misfortune to offend Her. As for you, seek unceasingly, through your prayers and sacrifices, to move My mercy with regard to these poor souls.*

(* from Documents on Fatima & the Memoirs of Sister Lucia, by Martins)

(I agree that the statue in question does not appear to be Blessed Mary anyway, and I agree that the preacher does not know what he is doing with regards to Catholics and our prayers aided sometimes by looking at a statue or image to keep our mind focused on prayer and free from worldly distractions.)

God bless you.

When this man faces Judgement:

sees the Blessed Mother

Man: Oh, hey Mary…um…what’s up. :o
Blessed Mother: So, wanna go and get a hammer and smash my face now? :hmmm:
“Judge Ye Not, lest Ye be Judged in the Same Eye” :hey_bud:

Even though it may not be a statue of the Virgin Mary, I think it is still disrespectful to smash it like that since he meant to smash a statue of the Virgin. 😦

If you don’t like it, why don’t you find the source of the clip and write a letter of disgust using proper Christian language to show your distaste about the clip. If you include proper documentation that explains the Catholic point of view at least this preacher’s ideas will be corrected. I cannot garantee that he will be receptive to it but if it bothers you at much, it’s worth it to try something. Just come in Christian love and not with your fists up.

Most Evangelicals don’t understand the Catholic teaching because some Catholics have taken it to the extreme that doesn’t follow our beliefs. For others, because they didn’t spend the time learning about it, they have made their assumptions most of which are wrong. It’s for that reason Catholics need to educate themselves about their denomination and sometimes attend these churches to teach what we believe. If we want the denominations to come together, the first two things we need to do: is educate ourselves and then correct others assumptions about our beliefs so that we can at least worship together under the same roof. Prayer, music, and the cross unite us together.

I tried doing just that, SecretGarden. I discovered quickly that the organization the man represents did not offer any particular address or e-mail to which I could send such a letter. I do not know if they fail to provide that kind of information on purpose or if it’s merely an oversight, but contacting them did not appear to be possible.

As to the rest about what Protestants/evangelicals don’t know, etc. I’ve tried that too. Some years ago, I decided to attend a few Protestant services because some of the boys in my Boy Scout troop at the time attended those particular services. (And I’d been required to do something similar in college.)

I have some bad news for you: Most Protestants that I’ve met do not have much interest in learning about the Truth of what Catholic faith actually teaches, nor are they typically interested in challenging their own beliefs in that manner. Keep in mind, this is not to say they’re intentionally disparaging toward Catholics–though some are–but rather to say that they’ve no more interest in learning about Catholic faith than I have in learning about theirs. Assuming a group of Protestants has even contemplated WHY their church teaches as it does–many have not, just like many Catholics have not–they’ve very often come to conclusions that can’t mesh with Catholic faith.

I’m quite willing to pray with any man who’s intentions are honorable.
I do need to understand though that he likely will not see faith precisely the same as I do.
Oddly, for all that Protestants tend to be famous for biblical quotes, I’ve been shocked over the years by what the average Protestant does NOT know about what’s in the bible. I get the distinct impression that many Protestants read the bible itself about the same as most Catholics…which is to say they don’t. Oh, they may have several passages picked out as proof texts to demonstrate what they believe. But to have read the bible for what the biblical author wishes to convey?
Quite rare really!

Ultimately, I’ve come to understand the whole concept of communicating with Protestants much the same way that Michael Voris has suggested: By all means, discuss the faith with them where and when you can. But don’t kid yourself into believing that someone from another denomination will concede any ground. He probably won’t.
I would suggest that if you wish to see faith traditions reunited, they’ll most likely do so by seeing individual people become Catholic. I can’t see any other way, because we either believe the Church teaches the whole of Truth…or we don’t.

For all that Edith Stein and others had the very best of intentions, I have never seen any means by which Jewish, Protestant, Islamic, and Catholic faiths can be reconciled as whole faith traditions.
You simply cannot have more than one set of beliefs that you’ll stick with and refuse to compromise.
Those four different faith traditions offer four sets of beliefs that cannot be reconciled.

If you wish for others to come to understand Catholic faith more fully, I would suggest less effort at persuading other traditions to “see the light”, more effort at praying rosaries and novenas that God would induce others to see out the whole of Truth.

If we believe our Church has the fullness of Truth, we have to believe that seeking the whole of Truth can only lead back to…Catholic faith.

Pray and let the Holy Spirit do the real work.

So I found a video on youtube of what I believe to be a fundamentalist baptist preacher mercilessly dishonoring the virgin mary and getting applause for it.

Now I know that there are certain people out there that accuse us of idolitry, but this guy takes it waaayy too far by trying to hurt us through hurting the mother of God.

youtube.com/watch?v=PrPrbdonJ68&NR=1:eek::confused:

Imagine of Jesus came in as he was doing that?
It appears that he has 200 something videos, most of which focus on our Church.

It’s sad really. Especially as he hates what he doesn’t even know about nor understand. It appears its no longer necessary to have a basic understanding of what it is your hate any more.

The part of me which enjoys dark humour is chuckling that the statue isn’t even of Mary. Just shows that we’ve got nothing to worry about from them.

I also had an online friend of a faith which thinks everything Catholic is man-made and satanicly contrary to ‘bible teaching’. 🤓:whacky:. I Tried to Always correct her, until sheknew I had her wrontg on every detail. I couled find Zero online Contact for that well known denomination, so went to a town that had such a church. Wrote a few times, quoting Bible Verses on a few basics, Never ever got a Reply; even in the ‘if your interested’ source. That Bible Only church nationally-known denomination was 100% man-made teachings/spins, especially it’s constant attacks on The Church, feared/couldn’t handle bible Corrections on anything.

They have to buy those statues from somewhere don’t they? Why not set up a stall, sell them statues, and then donate the money to RCIA, and invite them to it?

After all, they smashed their statue, not ours - as others have already mentioned.

(This is meant to be a joke, :))

Congratulations on your recent conversion to Catholicism. Remember - Catholicism is not a denomination.
The Catholic church is the one, true church that Christ intended to exist after HIs ascension into heaven and of which He left Peter as its first Pope. 264 popes later to Pope Benedict XVI. And the gates of hell have not and will not prevail against her.

To speak of the Catholic church is to speak of Mary. Both are united in one same vocation - Divine Maternity.

The mission is that true Christian protestants come back to the one, true church from which they came. We are not going to water down, "ecumenize or deplete our faith just so it looks like any other Christian [denomination].

This is who we are. Crucifix; Rosary; Real Presence in the Eucharist; Confession; Purgatory and the Immaculate, Perpetual Virgin, Mother of God.

“Judge Ye Not, lest Ye be Judged in the Same Eye” :hey_bud:
This needs to be repeated, but that was NOT Mary. That was St. Therese of Liseux. So if what you say will happen is true, then it will be THERESE who will appaear before the man and say “Want to smash my face in with a hammer now?”
But I agree with the above poster----don’t judge. Rather, hope he will repent and maybe even be admitted into the communion of Holy Mother Church.
God will decide what to do with him.
