Yes, it is your God. Your version of what God said. You are your own pope.So says your pope. Not so says my God.

St Paul, IN SCRIPTURE, would say NO… you would be receiving in an unworthy manner… and the curse of the Body and Blodd of the Lord would be on you… pretty strong words for something you only consider “symbolic”Really? So then they would have no problem with me taking communion there?
Do you have anything else constructive to contribute or are you going to continue to pretend that you have not been treated well here in the absence of anything substantial to add? That’s rather tame compared to all of the Roman Catholics here who have come out of the woodwork to tell me that we’re not real Christians, cannot be saved, and are going to Hell.
Praying to saints is biblical.According to the Bible, they are dead and contact with them is strictly forbidden.
Rather than using the vague “many Catholics do” angle, why not read what the Catechism says the Church teaches about Mary? If you have an argument against the Church teaching, then that would be a valid issue. Concerning yourself with what" many Catholics do" does not address what the Church teaches. Many Roman Catholics do.
But I wouldn’t be taking it in an unworthy manner. I’m saved, I’m right before God. There is no pattern of ongoing sin or rebellion in my life. I would be perfectly justified in taking communion, Biblically speaking.St Paul, IN SCRIPTURE, would say NO… you would be receiving in an unworthy manner… and the curse of the Body and Blodd of the Lord would be on you… pretty strong words for something you only consider “symbolic”
If it were Biblical, then it wouldn’t be condemned in the Bible.Praying to saints is biblical.
Not according to the teachings in Church in which you would be receiving. Further, you do not accept the biblically grounded Transubstantiation. But I wouldn’t be taking it in an unworthy manner. I’m saved, I’m right before God. There is no pattern of ongoing sin or rebellion in my life. I would be perfectly justified in taking communion, Biblically speaking.
Sure there is. Look at my post above regarding the Mother of Christ. You are denying a truth that, if you really had faith in Jesus, would be impossible to ignore. That’s ongoing rebellion, and it’s keeping you away from your own spiritual Mother…the one Jesus left for you.I’m saved, I’m right before God. There is no pattern of ongoing sin or rebellion in my life.
I guess being treated well is all relevant.Do you have anything else constructive to contribute or are you going to continue to pretend that you have not been treated well here in the absence of anything substantial to add?
You’ve got to be kidding. Mary is not my “spiritual mother” any more than the Man in the Moon.Sure there is. Look at my post above regarding the Mother of Christ. You are denying a truth that, if you really had faith in Jesus, would be impossible to ignore. That’s ongoing rebellion, and it’s keeping you away from your own spiritual Mother…the one Jesus left for you.
Of course she did not have divine power while on Earth…but she certainly did start Jesus off on his ministry…John 2:3-7…So yes…she did have some “sway”…She is a women. She has no divine power or authority. She holds no more sway over the will of God than anyone else.
You don’t believe in the promises of Christ?According to the Bible, they are dead and contact with them is strictly forbidden.
Again…a person who dies In Christ is Alive…more alive than you or I…Why would you pray to dead people when God has condemned it? Why would you pray to anyone other than God when God has condemned that?
Lots of Catholics take birth control, don’t go to confession or Church on Sunday…they don’t follow the teachings of the Church…and certainly don’t make or break Her either…We are all sinners. Many Roman Catholics do.
Now you know I didn’t mean you couldn’t understand…I meant you won’t allow yourself to understand…Your sensitive aren’t you…Yeah, I’m just some poor apostate with a grad degree. I’m just too stupid to understand.
Yes…I am having trouble with your nameAt least you got my name right this time.
Praying to saints is not condemned in the Bible. Calling up the spirits of the dead is in order to try to find out about the future or in séances and that sort of thing. If it were Biblical, then it wouldn’t be condemned in the Bible.
No, we don’t need a pope to tell us what God says. We can read God’s word for ourself.Yes, it is your God. Your version of what God said. You are your own pope.
Then why did God have the Israelites circumcise infants? The circumcision was a sign of faith in God, but certainly the baby couldn’t understand what it meant. One cannot be baptised as a baby because a baby has not made a conscious decision to follow Christ.
Yes there is. You’re not reading my post. Every scripture that affirms Jesus’s humanity and divinity united requires the logical conclusion that Mary is the mother of God.There’s nothing in scripture that even remotely suggests such a thing.
Actually, praying to the dead is condemned in scripture. Several times, as a matter of fact.Praying to saints is not condemned in the Bible. Calling up the spirits of the dead is in order to try to find out about the future or in séances and that sort of thing.
Funny, my Bible says that Enoch and Elijah are the only two people who went to Heaven without dying. As I stated above, the saints are not dead. They are ALIVE with Christ.
You make yourself your own pope by reading the Bible and deciding what 12volt_man thinks it says. But your interpretation is different from all of the other Bible-only Christians who are not members of your Baptist faith. So, like I said, you are your own pope. No, we don’t need a pope to tell us what God says. We can read God’s word for ourself.
I agree it’s relevant. Or did you mean relative?I guess being treated well is all relevant.
You know you have been treated with courtesy. So far, I’ve been told that I’m a heretic, that I’m not a Christian, that I cannot be saved, that I’m going to Hell, and that I would not be treated as an equal in your church.
If that’s being “treated well”, I’d hate to see how you guys treat somebody you have it in for.
Fine show me just one verse that says that mary is my “spiritual mother”.Yes there is.
Mary is not the mother of God. God existed long before Mary was even born. You’re not reading my post. Every scripture that affirms Jesus’s humanity and divinity united requires the logical conclusion that Mary is the mother of God.
I see. So then, who is God’s father?Hence, Mary is the mother of God.
