I don’t mean to be disingenuous, Holly, but it might help if you told us what you think it means.
The reason I ask is because some assurance is right and biblical, while the kind of “fire insurance” variety that I think you’re referring to is clearly a case of cheap grace.

John 15

Although not directly related to OSAS, whenever I focus on John 15, I always like to pair it with another verse (not coincidentally, the ONLY time in all of the Gospels I am aware of where Jesus addresses how to “remain (or abide, depending on translation) in Him”.
John 6:56.
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him.
