Yes, my thought exactly. You mean the child should suffer because of the parents life-style choices? If you think an unbaptized baby is going to hell, or at the very least, limbo as I have read in some threads, why would you sentence an innocent babe to that for the sins of its parents.

Secondly, will there be a litmus test before all baptisms? What about cafeteria Catholics who are legion? Will you deny their baby’s baptism?

He probably would be. I like how folks bring the Jesus into a situation which is against His own rules. The best things this “husband” and “wife” team can do is give this child up for adoption.
How are they going to explain who this child’s daddy is? Some guy who donated his ejaculation at a clinic?

Agreed the riots did get homosexuals “out” and the genie won’t go back in his bottle. However while basic rights including housing, employment, freedom from being harrassed simply by virtue of appearance are all laudable goals, I do not understand why homosexuals want to be identified by their sexual proclivities. IOW I wouldn’t define myself as someone who had a penchant for some kinky wierd stuff and by virtue of that alone, demand that YOU and the rest of the world accept it as normal. Sexual matters are private and IMO should remain private. If “out” means I’ll be treated to an unforgettable tour through your ailimentary canal, well no thanks.

Yeah - what on earth does Jesus have to do with it ? We’re too busy playing church to need HIM.

After all - he DOES have his “rules” ( Love one another ).

Besides - it’s more important to worry about what people think about the baby than having it baptised…

Is it possible for a priest to baptize the child in a small private ceremony without the hoopla? Since the women don’t want attention, this might work. At least the poor little mite will be forgiven original sin and hopefully will come to faith as it grows. The one who calls herself Catholic should contact a priest for an answer.

You left out the commandment before that one,"…love the Lord God with all your heart and all your soul…" Loving God entails keeping his commandments and trying to live the way he commanded us to.
Love entails truth. The truth is, the woman in question is not Roman Catholic. If it were that important to raise her baby Catholic she would become celibate. It would appear the lesbians in this situation are trying to make a political statement rather than being truly concerned about the Church’s sacrament. That is not loving God, and that certainly is not loving one another.

I “love Red Herrings” . . How did you get THAT from : The baby should be adopted by a two parent heterosexual, married, couple?. Actually, this “embarassing spawn” your words not mine, deserves the best it can get out of life. That is with a two parent, stable, heterosexual family.

WHERE do these homos display all of these proclivities and kinky weirdness ?

I was merely trying to keep the discussion “on track” - but thanks for the compliment ( now I know why I watch Letterman ).

Those of us with “useless” ( but dearly earned ) history degrees can’t leave hearsay alone - facts are facts.

I’ve never seen the lesbians across the street doing anything in their yard than I would do in mine. What keeps them together is their love for each other - they don’t “force” their private bedroom activities out into our street.

Is this happening on YOUR street ? One lady up about 6 slots in this thread seems to think that lesbians show up at soccer games, then loudly holler ‘’ I’M A LESBIAN ! ", scaring the bejeezus out of all assembled.

I’ve never witnessed that type of thing - ANYwhere. She also ignored the reason everyone “knows” that little Jennifer’s moms are gay - kids know - kids talk. It’s not something a lesbian has to write in shoe polish on the side of her Dodge Caravan for everyone to know.

Why all the hysterics ? Gay folks used to be like the crazy aunt living in the attic - EVERYone knew that she was there - only NO ONE TALKED ABOUT IT.

The most irksome part of all of this sounds something like:

I think the biggest fear is : that our kids would turn out to be gay and that’s why we act like this.

God’s law is very clear. We are not to participate in homosexual activities.

We do not hate homosexuals for being different. We do not fear that our children will “turn out to be gay.” We do resent being forced to accept sinful activities as being normal and being labeled homophobes for admonishing our brothers and sisters as called for in Scripture.
Do not regard him as an enemy but admonish him as a brother.

IMO means “In my opinion” there are a number of shortcuts for emails. Saves time and fingers.

Not like me? Hmmmm, I’ve never met anyone like me but that doesn’t mean I dislike those who are not Lisatwins. I have friends who are very different…heck my best friend is a liberal Democrat (we dont talk politics!) But not being my long lost twin does not mean I don’t like the person. I have friends who are homosexual. Honest JamesClaude, real live friends. They aren’t much like me at all. They are for one thing, male (that is obvious) and we do NOT talk about sex.

Frankly, I think it was much more pleasant when NO ONE TALKED ABOUT IT. Because someone’s sex life is between them, their partner and God. I don’t want to hear about anyone’s sex life, much less a homosexual’s sex life. However the problem is that homosexuals are not simply OUT they have an agenda and that is to normalize abnormal behavior. They want homosexuality taught in schools as “just another lifestyle” They want to be free to engage in behavior that is un-natural, self destructive, non-procreative AND they want to be treated like this is perfectly normal. It’s not normal.

As to homosexuals self identifying as being little more than hormones on the hoof, I need only to point to our favorite “Gay American” Jim McGreevey…

As to ‘kids talk’ IMO homosexuals should not be raising kids. So there would be nothing to talk about if that were the case.

Sorry I liked it better when EVERYONE kept their sex lives a bit more quiet and to themselves. Seemed a lot less messy.

I am sorry, but you are wrong. During the gay pride parades in New York they went so far as to sodomise each other on the steps of St. Patricks Cathedral while the police look on and do nothing. Now ,if they had been heterosexual they would be in JAIL! I am all for all babies being babtised. Just one question though.What happens when the child gets his or her Catholic religion classes and they come home and tell their two mommies that they are living in mortal sin? They will find a new church, right?Point made.God Bless

Great point and I think the answer is far more sinister than you state here.

They will sue for discrimination and defamation of character.

Just as some in the “Gay Movement” have stated that once they get the right to marry in all the states they will start to sue the Churches that will not marry them for denying their civil rights.

Just another step in their agenda.

You are right, and they would probably try to make it a “HATE” crime issue. I mean how dare Catholics teach their faith?(SARCASM). God Bless

This is one of those questions that make people think the Catholic Church hates gays and lesbians. However, such a discussion won’t answer the original question. Dr. Colussus gave the clearest answer. These ladies should take their question to a priest, who will be able to discern their intentions. Only “another Christ” can make a decision whether to deny a child the grace of baptism. As for the women running to the Episcopal Church, they should know that running away from the truth won’t make it go away.
