Good for him! Life decisions are never easy, and being young often makes them more difficult. Many will wonder how he could make such a choice. Many will say he should have pursuded a career in basebal and *then *answered his call. Who’s to say he was right or wrong? The important thing is he made the choice that he felt was right for him. I know that many young men who enter seminary never go on to ordination. That may happen to this young man. That is not important.
At a time when I was much younger I thought I was being called to full time Christian ministry. I pursued that call until I discovered that was not where God wanted me. At first I was disappointed, but as I grew I realized God’s wisdom is greater than mine. Even though I never completed the necessary steps to reach ordination, I have never regreted taking those first steps.
By being faithful to his call, this young man will be richly blessed regardless of the final outcome.
