Hello,

I am currently battling an addiction with pornography. I would really, really appreciate it if you all were to pray for me so I can receive the strength, courage to stand tall against this horrible addiction. I do go to mass often, pray, and I am a good person overall. However, there are times I wonder if He will still have the same love for me when I fall back into the habit. Again, please prayer for me so that I can break through and find a sense of happiness again, etc.

Thank you so much!

Praying for your intentions.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

I’ve dealt with that in the past, and to a good extent am still dealing with the temptation on a daily basis. I’ll be praying for you.

Stay away from that computer as much as humanly possible. That’s how I manage now, and it seems be working out better than other things I’ve tried.

If it is internet Pornography do some Google searches for web filters.

Here is a link for a free filter.

please feel free to send a message to me if you need to talk about this and get things out. I could vent myself.

One thing that helps me is Rosary devotion.

Thanks for reaching out. You are doing the right thing and taking the first step.

Peace Be With You

Hey asdljk,

I’m currently working my way through the same problem. I gave this advice to someone else: my two most useful tools have been a journal, and an internet filter.

The journal is a great way to let off some energy in a pretty productive way, and it is almost like having an accountability parter, because it’s like answering to yourself (and since I plan on showing it to my future wife, if I get married, I’m being accountable to her).

That’s a site for an internet filter called Naomi, which is a content blocker rather than a blocker that just blocks a list of sites. It works really well. It’s password protected, so what I did was make a password too long to remember, wrote it down and gave it to my brother, telling him not to give it back to me unless I explained what the password was for. (this was in case I had to get to a website that was being blocked but shouldn’t have been - luckily that never happened anyway).

So I’ll keep you in my prayers and just remember that it is definitely possible to get through this. I’m on day 16! So if I can make it this far, anyone can make it.

asdljk, your battle is spiritual. The evil one knows just how to lead you away from Christ. When you fall, the guilt follows. Time after time, he attacks you in this way, since he knows your buttons and pushes them frequently. Notice that he does not send you drug dealers or gambling? He is very efficient in evil, going right to the core of your weakness. Just Google: “Catholic spiritual warfare prayer”. There are many on-line, and one helped me immensely. Say it without fear, and with all of the faith and trust you can muster.

Blessed Lord, you alone know asdljk’s heart, having conceived of it from all eternity as a crucial part of Your Divine plan. In Your Gracious Mercy, lead asdljk to blessed freedom from temptation, bought with the precious Blood of Your Beloved Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I ask this through the same Christ, our Lord, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God for ever and ever. Amen.

o holy lord may you bless him with the strength, courage and wisdom to turn from sin and give him the faith to be beat his adcition and be the catholic you want him to be. amen

Yes, He still loves you as much as ever and looks lovingly and understandingly on this battle you are waging. May The Lord bring to you courage and strength and establish you in His Peace and His Joy. Keeping you in prayer…
