BBC 'Have your say' replies on Pope visit...disgusting!

I don’t believe we live in a Christian society. It is pagan (small p) to the core. I can use this link as proof. Hate speech is okay if you hate Christians.
 
England has a long history of animosity (if not outright hatred) of “Papists”, so this isn’t really surprising (though no less disgusting).

Isn’t it odd, though, that if you say one politically-incorrect word against homosexual marriage, you’re a “homophobe”; one politically-correct word against global warming, you’re a “denier”–but a vile stream of anti-Catholic lies and biogtry is “free speech”.
 
It’s amazing that people are so ignorant about Christianity. They call it a myth! Sad thing is that many people cry foul when terrorists attack a place, but they condone the capture of the Holy Land by muslims and condemn the Christians who went to fight them in the crusades.
 
As awful as they are, sadly I’m not surprised by the responses.
 
As a devout practising catholic and daily attender of mass i understand how you feel the comments by viewers are “disgusting”.However try to understand from their point of view (most of them) they are not religious do not live their lives with values like ours and some dont even believe in God.Sadly they have no respect for the Pope because of ignorance and we should pray for these people “Forgive them Father for they know not what they do”.
They see Catholics in general in a poor light. I do have to say try to see their point about Africa and contraception.It is black and white to these people (without God) that in order to prevent starving babies/aids diseased babies being born just use condoms/whatever form of contraception they suggest.On that point they are correct BUT they are ignorant of Gods will.Please pray for them God would want us to.“Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us”
Perhaps the Pope needs more of a Media mogul to explain in understanding terms to these people the right way Gods instruction to us all
 
As somoeone currently in the public school system, such comments are not a big shocker to me, since i hear (and constantly respond to) them all the time. When faced with such ignorant comments I temporarily get angered (and justly so); However, when something like that happens, we should always remember what Christ told us, “blessed are those who are persecuted.”

The fact that the secular world hates the Church for her stance on morality or the true teachings that she means that she is doing her job as Christ asked. If only more of us could be as courageous as her saints in the past or as our current pope!

Ignorance is the key problem and prayer & silence seems to be the most effective solution 🙂
