This woman should not be living on her own anymore. Her judgement skills are gone. How sad!
 
I heard the local news talk radio guy discussing this one yesterday. In a joking manner, he suggested that the police should have just taken her down and subdued her and figured at her age, it wouldn’t have been hard. As a nurse, and I am sure other nurses here can bear witness to this, if someone has gone postal on you, no matter their physical condition or age, it can be a harrowing experience and one to make you sore afterwards trying to restrain someone from hurting themselves or someone else. If the cops had “taken her down”, there would have been a big outcry and outrage over cops using force to subdue an elderly woman.
 
Friend in California had his mom call 911 and order a Chinese take out. Said her son was starving her to death. The state investigated him for over 6 months. A nightmare. He had been working two jobs in order to hire companions and nurses aids so she could continue to live in her house. (he lived 15 min. away).

The positive to it all is when she would start to complain again, he would look at her and say, “Remember what happened over that 911 call? Do you think it would be better if we found you a nicer place to live?”
