Blah, blah, blah…

**This could’ve been a Catholic country by now had we not been deceived by the sexual revolution.
**

Blah, blah, blah…
I’m not sure how you can back up those claims. How would Europe be dying if it weren’t for immigration? Are you trying to imply that so little people are reproducing that the death rate is higher than the birth rate? That’s absolutely absurd.

You’re also dumbing things down so much. You can’t blame the sexual revolution alone for the lack of people turning to Catholicism. There are other religions out there, and there has been a growing amount of people turning to atheism or secular beliefs now days. Really, though, when you make claims like the above it really sums up your true agenda.

YOU’RE TRYING TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD!!!111

If your wife earns more than her husband, shouldn’t the man stay home and care for the children?
that’s a recipe for disaster. the man in such a marriage has a very hard time being the spiritual leader of his family because, to a very large degree, his wife is the “boss.” if you want your marriage to last, this is a very bad idea.

I know several doctors who’ve had children, one of whom has six and uses NFP.
i’ll bet she’s the only doctor in the US who has that many. most have far fewer, i’ll bet. being a doctor is an extremely demanding job. it’s not really compatible with having, AND RAISING, children.

Neither spouse should be the boss of the other. There are many Catholics who want that kind of marriage and are happy. You are entitled to have whatever kind of marriage you want but dooming a marriage because the husband stays home and looks after the children is really ridiculous. Why not if both spouses have agreed to this for various reasons - the husband has lost his job, the husband earns less and they have agreed on one staying home for the time being etc.

I hear Muslims believe that the husband must lead his wife or wives to heaven but then in Islam a woman is that much lesser than a woman. I do not care for the opinion that a wife needs her husband to lead her spiritually or otherwise. Marriage should be about love and if there is true love, there is no need to go on about “Who’s the boss?”.

I am sure female doctors would be smart enough to have good, caring husbands who help in raising their children.

“For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body.” Eph. 5:23.

men were not designed to stay home with kids. but women clearly were. an infant gets milk from its mom, not its dad.

i truly believe that if a married man will ask God to show him how to earn enough money so that his wife can stay home with their children, that’s a prayer God will always answer. He has for me. my wife quit working 12 years ago to raise our three kids. i’ve worked as hard as any man i know to make a living, but it has been well worth it, and God has richly blessed us. My wife–who was a tenured college professor when she quit–has never once regretted her decision to leave her career and stay home.
So, you are saying that everyone ELSE needs to have lots of kids. Because you aren’t going to?
you ask 100 female doctors whether they use artificial contraceptives and you will get 100 affirmative answers. you can’t possibly do a demanding job like that and be open to life the way our Church teaches we must be.
Well, the Catholic female doctor I know personally, has 3 children, just like you.

But somehow she is sinning, and you aren’t.
we tried to have more. also, we became catholic late in life. i wish we had 5-6.
Try harder. Isn’t that what you are telling people to do? Try harder?

If you wish you had more, adopt. There are ways, if you REALLY believed what you are preaching. But it sounds like you believe it but only for other people.

my message is not, “try harder.” my message is, “do what our Church teaches.”

And if you believe that is what our Church teaches, then you need to do the same.

As I said, you have the same number of children as my Catholic doctor has. But somehow you are saying Catholic doctors can’t possibly follow Church teaching.
not so with a female doctor. she’s in college, med school, and residency from age 18 to her late twenties. then, she works 60 hours per week and is on call all of the time. she can’t have kids. or, at most, she might have 1 or 2 and then hand then off to a day care worker as soon as they are born. a woman who chooses that career uses contraceptives because she has to. she can’t be open to life as the Church teaches her to be.

don’t think so, but i’m all ears.
Actually, I’m all ears. Where does the Church state woman shouldn’t become doctors and lawyers, the man is the head of the household, the wife must stay home with the kids, etc.?

I’m not interested in Bible snippets, because they are typically take out of context. The Church has specific interpretations for such passages, so which Church interpretations are you basing your comments on?

if you’re not interested in what the Bible says, I can’t help you.

the Church doesn’t say women can’t be doctors/lawyers. my argument is that having those careers is largely incopatible with following the Church’s teaching on contraception.

Biblical quotes in the Bible must be taken in their proper context, which may include comparing it with other books in the Bible, or compared with Tradition. I am interested in what the Bible says, in its proper context.

That’s your position, not the Church’s…unless you can demonstrate that the Church holds such a position.

You are assuming things about careers that you know nothing about. There are plenty of female professionals with demanding jobs and lots of children. You are accusing them of using contraception when you have no way of knowing that. They may well be using NFP or God has chosen not to give them a big family. You assume that God wants everyone to have ten children, when that is not implied by the instruction in Genesis.

Jesus told us not to judge, by assuming that female doctors and lawyers are using contraception, you’re not following the Church’s teaching.
