Unlike in the USA and Europe where Catholic churches are being torn down or destroyed, the Russian Orthodox Church has experienced a lot of growth with many new churches being built in Russia today.
The number of abortions in Russia is very high. Religion is often used as a weapon for expansionism. And this leads to the consequences of a military intervention. There are many abandoned children due to drunkenness. The political and socio-economic system is not exemplary. Democratic institutions are also very low.
In fact, among the elites in Russia, homosexuality is very common. Some even call the big Russian cities as the debauchery centers.
Unfortunately the golden domes and golden crosses is not greatly affect on the fight with corruption and on social transformation. Therefore, so many Slavic Eastern European countries already in the EU, and the rest are eager to join the EU.
I think it’s despicable when undercovered imperial spirituality is trampling the authentic christian national spirituality of other nations.

Indeed. I had the privilege of becoming friends with a devout Russian Orthodox whose parents where card carrying communists. The reason why he was a Christian was the courageous faith of living martyrs at the margins and bottom of the Soviet society.
There are natural processes of many phenomena.
There are processes by which you can not look back and you need to look forward.
Neither Romania nor Ukraine can not be outside Europe.
Yes, in the Romanian communism everyone had a roof over his head, all were fed, Ceausescu encouraged large families. But it was a system in which many processes were artificial, false and short-lived. And probably one of the negative aspects of communism is that communism had taught people that the state will give him all for free.
By the way, after the collapse of communism, there was a time when the Romanians were in much worst state than the Ukrainians.
But thanks to EU membership the country was transformed.
The EU has removed restrictions in employment.
The country has a large flows of financial capital.
Educated young people can study and then work in EU countries.
In the Middle Ages, the Romanians were hospitable to the gypsy nomads and unfortunately processes of integration of Roma people in Romanian, and to European society is very painful. But this is a common problems and common challenges.
By the way, in the 6 -00 in the morning I was driving through the town of Bacau, and I was surprised that so early people are already rushing to work. This proves that capitalism changes a person and makes him roll up the sleeves.
But I do not see the decline of spirituality and the more I do not see the influence of the Russian messianic spirituality on world Orthodoxy or Balkan Orthodoxy.

Today the unemployment rate in Romania is about 7 %. Under communism, you were guaranteed a job and the unemployment rate was close to 0.

what might be a serious problem is the fact that citizens who have worked abroad for a salary 7-8 times higher than at home are already difficult to tune to work at home for a low salary.

The gross average monthly salary in Romania now amounts to almost $700 (US).

interesting
i noticed that the tactics of activity of different confessions affects the proselytizing here.
in some villages of the carpathian regions there are more protestants than orthodox, and in some villages a large number of jehovah’s witnesses. its a triggered method in which preachers actively campaigning and they assure you that salvation-saving knowledge is required for the membership in a particular confession. especially active (and one of the most successful) are the jehovah’s witnesses, also there are known the phenomena of ‘‘spiritual awakening’’ in a baptist environment where many members cross to pentecostal movement(which is seen as an extra spiritual help for the christian by the holy spirit) as the disciplinary legalism and strict rules of protestants are obvious, some are moving from orthodoxy to evangelicals. i think that the mentality in small towns and villages is significantly different from the big cities, but the villagers i would say are extremely religious.
it’s not like some say that membership in the european union had a negative impact on religiosity. the religious kaleidoscope in certain regions has changed (due to the campaign activities of certain movements) but ‘‘homo religiosus’’ is invincible:)

European Union is a godless enterprise which is trying to destroy the traditional Christian values formerly treasured is its member states. Nothing good will come out of it.
Well.living in Australia,it won’t be a worry to you. In the UK several areas were declared areas of social deprivation. They were given grants by the then EEC which was more than Westminster could be bothered to do.The EU does not have to be god driven, religious values are an entirely private matter within families. The fact that religious bullying of state and individual,is now curtailed,is all to the good.

I lived in Greece for 12 years. My wife is Greek and our children were all born there. My sister-in-law and her family live in Greece as do many of our friends. The impact of EU membership on Greece does indeed worry us.

So then why are Muslim immigrants given free passes on public displaying of religion?

Recently listening to this radio transmission “Radio Ortodox” Romania.
Romanian choral singing of the monks is very similar to the Greek.
These Praise the Lord choral singing for the listener is like a balm for the soul.

I have a friend that went to school with me throughout my childhood and she found a man from Romania and moved there and married him. Her and I are originally from Indiana of the United States.

This is the time where intermarriage very common especially in Europe.
Life leads many to seek better prospects abroad.
Most often marry Romanian women.
Eastern European women have their own valuable features-thrift…Romanian (East European) woman, especially when she is young, pays a lot of attention to her own appearance. Some older Romanian(East European) women do the same by adding tons of make up on their face but I don’t really think this is real care about appearance.
🙂
I think comparably with Slavic wemen Romanian women are more emotional.

Romanian woman is known for great ability to apply her skills in traditional cuisine, dishes of which would make every man feel himself the king of repast.
I think that for example in traditional culture of Carpathian Regions of East Europe -food is very important aspect between man and woman as it is not only pleasure, but when woman feeds his man, he gets strong and has power to protect family, to gain food for the family. This treat has sacred meaning as when woman feeds a man she gives him energy and man converts this energy to new achievements.
So in a village culture, the young girls are frequently very good in cooking, moms duty to teach her how to cook, hence comes the thrift of women.
One more major thing is ability and willing to take care of the family, to take care of kids. Its also rooted in culture.
Тhat is, there are features that sometimes make the Eastern European women special.

On the road to the monastery in Putna, I was driving through town Rădăuţi.
Monument in Rădăuţi underlines the Christian identity of Romania.

Sometimes the entrance to the church or monastery in Romania goes through the narrow door. I was scarcely placed with my backpack. The narrow door is very symbolic in the strict sense reminding for parishioner about the narrow gates which leading to heaven.

In the monastery museum I managed to take a picture of the sword of Stephen the Great on the background of people. His sword can be compared with the size of the people. Very large sword. I think that some historians may compare Stephen the Great with personality of Joshua.
