I interpret in the Bible; Life will be easier to be a Christian, and it’s also said that it’s going to be harder. Which is it?
Excellent question! Please consider the following:I interpret in the Bible; Life will be easier to be a Christian, and it’s also said that it’s going to be harder. Which is it?
I think that Kreeft is trying to tell us that it is bittersweet to accept God’s will at first when we turn to him, but this will make our lives more amazing than we could beleiveGod, in giving us all free will, said to us: “Your will be done.” Some of us [Christians] turn back to him and say: “My will is that your will be done.” That is obedience to the first and greatest commandment. Then, when we do that, he turns to us and says: “And now, your will be done.” And then he writes the story of our lives with the pen strokes of our own free choices.
To elaborate on this, apparently the New Living Translation put its as “My yoke fits perfectly and the burden I give you is light”.A reading from the Gospel of Matthew Chapter 11
28 Come to me all you that labor and are burdened, and I will refresh you. 29 Take up my yoke upon you, and learn of me, because I am meek, and humble of heart: And you shall find rest to your souls. 30 For my yoke is sweet and my burden light.
It is bittersweet at times. But remember it is not about this world but the next.
So it’s both as stated by others on this thread.I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.
