I forget to mention a few items in my first post in this thread.:o

If in fact the issue is say, abortion (since we don’t know if it is or not, only that you wouldn’t do it)

The catholic church won’t change their stand on abortion just because you feel it is problematic to conversion. Even if millions of people stormed the catholic church and demanded it be changed, it won’t do it. Not for millions, not for you.

So, you mentioned homosexuality. Again, the catholic church won’t change it’s position on that, not for millions, and not for you to convert to her.
And let’s not forget Artificial Birth Control.

That is a tougher pill to swallow, isn’t it? 😛

And no, the Catholic Church won’t budge (like the Protestant churches did).

Millions have stormed and ranted and LEFT the Church over this one issue.

The Church built on Rock does not move. 👍

The mother’s life and the fetus’s life are equal.

You can’t directly kill the baby to save the mother’s life - the end doesn’t justify the means.

However, if there is cancer or something and it will cause your death for sure, and if it is removed the baby will die, you can do this - it is your choice. This is called ‘indirect abortion’ and this is allowable as long as the mother’s life is in danger and will be saved.

Direct abortion - never allowed.
Indirect abortion - allowable in the life/death situation of the mother.

Also note there is a Catholic saint who could have had an indirect abortion but she chose to save her baby - it is not expected of you to do this but it is the greatest love that you would give your life for another and thus it is greatly respected.
