What can an expression like “women and* children first**” mean to modern men who have been taught all their lives that women are nothing more precious than sexual** playthings**, and children nothing more than a disposable burden?*
Nicknamed “Captain Coward,” Schettino has become thefocus of national fury for Italians fed up with the all too frequently** accurate** stereotype of Italian men as** vain, feckless, irresponsible, selfish** and untrustworthy permanent adolescents.
But the problem is not* limited*** to Italy. It seemed apropos thatthe** same week** bad-boy American Catholic apologist Michael Voris was doing a series of videos on the emasculation of men and the effects of feminism on the Catholic Church and the world in general, a topic few in the Church dare to broach.
By telling women they don’t need men, by demonizing the value of masculinity, feminism has at the same time told men that they never need to grow up. If feminism has told women they can sleep around “like men,” it must be remembered that this implies that men may do the same right back. Instead of insisting that men grow up, marry a woman and protect and care for their children, it has offered men women as toys while offering women the Pill, abortion and family court as the back-up plan. Feminism defines “equality” as men and women competing equally in the labour market and using each other equally as objects.
Recently, the popes have written against the kind of feminism that promotes abortion and contraception while hammering a wedge of hostility between men and women. Universal promiscuity, contraception, legal abortion, easy** divorce**, together with** a youth-worshipping, madly materialist culture,** they have said, has created an atomized society of isolated consumers for whom all relationships routinely end in abandonment. A vast cultural catastrophe that leaves children without fathers, tells women they don’t need men, and men they can remain happy, care-free adolescents their whole lives.

We hope and pray for the above, but the scripture also comes to me that warns of a spirit of perversity when good is seen as evil and evil is seen as good. I think we’re there!

When this tragedy happened in Italy, my thoughts immediately went to Captain Sully, the pilot who landed the plane in the Hudson river. It was amazing to me how differently the two men behaved in their respective situations. The biggest difference I could see was that one man took his duties seriously and understood what it means to be responsible for others. Too many men today too often just don’t get it, and they are not raising their boys to get “it” either. The lie that too many are believing is that men can be happy and fulfilled living as adolescents.

As for men being care-free adolescents their whole lives, well, if feminism has taught men anything, it is that even if they should willingly knuckle down and accept the responsibility of being a father and husband, it can all be taken away from them by a ‘system’ that places the ‘rights of women’ over and above the rights of husbands and fathers. Catherine, I would have thought that you, having posted the link to the article and begun this thread, would have quite a bit to say about what the article tells us. Instead, you respond to me with a two line reply and all you do is tell* me* to keep trying and me to watch my style?!

Where is your rage?

Where is the rage of women who have watched while the reputations of their fathers and brothers have been trashed? Trashed to such an extent that men either aren’t allowed to act as men, or they don’t even know how to act as men, as evidenced by that article. Where is your rage as hundreds and thousands of young women line up to have their own offspring killed for reasons of expedience? Where is your rage as young women sell themslves as sex objects, the whole time thinking they are liberated and in charge? Where is your rage that our entire society is in danger of collapsing, as evidneced by that article?

So where are all the good women who should be doing the preaching to their sisters? Men can act like men all they like, I’m an inactive Marine, ride a Harley, drink a few beers after work, play sports, wrestle with my son. My wife takes care of our children while I work and keeps the home running while going to school and working towards her degree (she will be the first of my family tree to ever get a degree which makes me immensely proud). Have I met women that were difficult and wanted to emasculate me? Sure, I simply went in another direction and said bye bye…

If a man acts like a permanent adolescent and allows himself to be emasculated then I would question what type of man he is anyway.

I believe that if it were written and made easier for teaching at the High School level, Church Groups, and handed out to every couple contemplating marriage it would help to** turn things around.** For this is** truely** a wonder** filled** document!!*

This is based on the Marxist Class Warfare system. Men become the eternal enemy, while women are the eternal victims of men. The family was destroyed in many cases. The usual bonds between aunts, uncles and in-laws were usually broken. Marriage began to turn into whatever you wanted it to mean and living together with sex, which was frowned upon, gave way to movie after movie, for example, where an attractive couple are modeling exactly that type of behavior.

And the Sexual Revolution was about selfish pleasure, not committed love. This gave way to casual sex and ‘just sex’ like going to the bathroom.

There is too much polarization on both sides and it leads to creating a riff when there doesn’t need to be one. Fact is the vast majority of women are not hardened man hating feminists. And most men are not women hating beaters. Most people are no different than they were 1000 years ago, they want to be left to live a life in relative peace and raise a family.

As for the man hating feminist, well they’re better than the women hating men, at least the former isn’t strangling people, sexually assaulting them, and dumping them in a canal.

There is so much violence against women in our society it is really is ridiculous for us men to pine over a few radical feminists.

And again I say if a man acts like an adolescent into his 30’s and allows himself to be emasculated then I doubt he would be much more of a man in a different time.
