I enjoy Guy Fieri as well as Bobby Flay because they are COOKS! I enjoy Iron Chef because they are COOKING! I don’t need dippy background music, “artsy” camera work, or loose body parts to liven up my cooking shows. Oh Lord, for the good old days of Julia Child!

Amen to those loose body parts. I haven’t seen Nigella’s show yet. Don’t think I care to.

I still remember when Julia dropped a chicken or something and put it back on the platter without skipping a beat: “That’s okay—no one will notice.”

In the early, EARLY days of the FN, they had Dionie Lucas and Craig Claiborne—in black-and-white! 👍
 
Does anyone say anything about the issues they have with TV programs to the program makers? Recently I have started emailing TV news makers, when the presenters say “Oh my God” when there is just no need, also networks for presenting unacceptable programs. I suppose if more people complained, they’d have to do something. The idea of lots of people being upset, and threatening to not watch their channels would have to have an impact after a while. If only a few people complain, I guess they won’t care

I have a big loud mouth when it comes to complaining. 😃

How will they know we don’t like it if we don’t say anything?

Me too! I have a special file on the computer just for emails to media folk! I’ve emailed CNN so many times, I think they must have my name flagged!

Don’t know how much good it does, but it makes me feel better!
