I am an individualistic Catholic, I guess.
I sometimes describe us as the fuzz on the end of the string that hangs off the fringe, in pretty much any group in which we find ourselves.
The Hellenic part, pretty much, yes, with my husband and daughter. Unfortunately, while there are organized groups of Hellenic Neopagans out there (and others like us who are geographically scattered), there aren’t any local to us and we simply don’t have the time or energy right now to get one started here. We maintain contact with them online and meet up whenever we have an opportunity (as when we went on vacation this spring).
The Neopagan part is a bit easier. We have a small group of friends with whom we do the major holidays. The beliefs are not identical, but the forms and general “language” of religion, if you will, are similar enough. There are also other Neopagans involved in our church, so we have some things, though not all, in common.
We are very active in our local UU church as we are very much in line with their emphasis on social justice and community. It provides us with a great religious community. UU is noncreedal, so having a different theology is not a barrier.
