The Church is rightly skeptic of bleeding/crying statues and paintings. In Italy, a man was actually arrested for fraud when the Bishop declared his painting of Padre Pio, which allegedly bled, as non-supernatural. The Church actually should be cynical of these - imagine what happens if they call it a miracle, and then we prove it’s a coincidence! But it’s nice to see so much devotion, with or without the “miracle”. 👍
 
I think it is important to be skeptical also. There are a lot of frauds out there. I hope the people who go to the statue are helped regardless of weather it is real.
 
You hear about the weeping Virgin now and then, but hearing it from FOX news, that’s unusual.
 
I haven’t heard anything official, I might bring it up with the deacon tomorrow at RCIA.
 
I do pray that no one is being deceived, as has sometimes occurred in such cases, later causing more harm than good results. However, our God, may Your kingdom come, Your will be done. Please lead Your people with the truth, the gospels, and the teachings of the Church. In authentically following these, we need no signs and wonders.
 
I know that most of the mainstream media confused this, but this isn’t actually Catholic news because it’s associated with the Orthodox Church (although it’s not surprising that people would get that confused). The Catholic Diocese of London (Ontario) declined to investigate for that reason.

I hate to say this,but the Catholic leadership has not been up-front concerning church scandals from the 50s till now, They have hidden the truth about the 3rd secret at Fatima"? and why has not the Pope OBEYED Church laws and Removed evil from Roman Catholicism??The LADY of Fatima said," God wants the Pope and his bishops to consecrate Russia to my Immaculate Heart, then there will be Peace on Earth"
 
My Grandparents traveled back to their home in Sicily to visit the shrine of Our Lady of Tears, Siracusa, Sicily established in August, 1953, also a crying statue of Our Lady. I don’t know if the Church authenticated it as miraculous but it was and still is quite famous.
