Ben-wa balls

This is an uncomfortable question to ask…

Here’s some background. My husband has chronic back pain as well as severe anxiety. He takes a lot of medication that cause sexual side-effects (numbness of vital areas & lack of desire). Due to breast cancer, I have had 8 surgeries in 3 years that resulted in many completely numb areas (breasts & areas of my abdomen) as well as surgical menopause (no uterus, ovaries, or even cervix). I’ve also had 2 children vaginally.

Although my husband and I both enjoy our marital relations, his numbness causes him to get less enjoyment, which results in decreased desire (plus the decreased desire from the medications). In an effort to increase his sensation, I’ve been looking into getting Ben-wa balls or the duo-tone balls. While they can be used in addition to other things to stimulate the female, they can also be used in addition to kegel exercises to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles. Doing so could increase the friction during the marital act and increase his sensation. However, these balls aren’t used during intercourse, but instead at random times like exercise dumbbells. Would this be licit even if it does produce stimulation to the wearer?

They might not and if so, it’s pretty much a side effect. I think you still have to actively cooperate to reach orgasm - maybe not - women are easy quite often. Anyway, this isn’t the only thing we do for health benefits that can cause stimulation. I think side-effects are just that and unless you get sort of sexually hooked on them, you’re fine.

Kegel exercisers do stimulate, though, IMO, not really in a sexual fashion. More like…lifting dumbbells stimulates blood flow to the arm muscles, causing an increase in sensation and warmth to the area. Doing weighted kegel exercises feels nice, just as using light dumbbells with the arms do, but then you reach a point of fatigue that you have to try to work past to build those muscles. Many, many women struggle with pelvic floor issues and need some resistance training to tone everything back up and lift your organs back up into their healthy position. The fact that the exercises might feel nice sometimes doesn’t mean that it is sinful, IMO. I have heard that consistent use of a good kegel toner leads to increased sensation during intercourse with one’s husband, and it is pleasing for both husband and wife.
I am currently expecting my fourth child, and I already have my kegel toners ready for postpartum toning.
Make sure you research all the kinds of toners. They all work differently, and with different results, so you will want to pick the kind that addresses your health concerns.
