Beautiful truth.
Hopefully world leaders will recognize these concerns of the Holy Father and bishops and work together to resolve them and spare so much needless death, destruction and despair. In resolving them, hopefully they awaken to the need to recognize the reality of evil and the importance of combatting it for the sake of their nations, their families, and our common future.

Pope Benedict never fails to inspire me, as he seems a living and breathing example of those traits described by Christ in the Beatitudes.
The opponents of Christ never seem to miss a chance to degrade him as being, “Pope JPII’s rotteweiler”, when, in truth, he epitomizes the proverbial “lamb amongst the wolves”. He is such a holy being.

No man is without sin. His term has been good w.r.t. Vatican scholarship, but I do think that overall the Papacy needs young pontiffs who can address a wider catholic audience. The folks who frequent a forum such as this see him much differently than even an average Sunday churchgoer.

Here’s a quote from Pope Benedict XVI in the article:
“This is a sign of the times that should be an urgent challenge to us, especially as Christians. We have to show – and also live this accordingly – that the eternity man needs can come only from God. That God is the first thing necessary in order to be able to withstand the afflictions of this time. That we must mobilize, so to speak, all the powers of the soul and of the good so that a genuine coin can stand up against the false coin – and in this way the cycle of evil can be broken and stopped.”
What comes through in this quote is the importance of eternity as provided by God’s mercy over and above one period of time with its afflictions … a message of agelessness speaking to every age, and including both young and old. Also, that we’re not called to be mediocre or average … we’re called to be holy, to be the genuine coin forged by all the powers of the soul and of the good.

Since The Holy Spirit is instrumental in selecting a Pope I fully bow to his knowledge that the Pope we have is the one we are meant to have. This is his Church so I fully accept his will in this matter and believe he knows what he is doing… If we were meant to have a younger Pope we would have one but obviously this is not God’s will, at this time.
