What a horrible response. But that seems to be the typical anti-semitism from the GO in particular. Really? Anti-Semetic? That’s a terrible accusation! I have close friends who are Jewish - one in particular whose parents fled Nazi Germany. Perhaps, since you are so quick to call names, you would also consider all Israelis Anti-Christians. You are simply uninformed or unconcerned when Jewish children are murdered by Palestinians. I do care about the Israeli children who have died…there have been 4 deaths this year of Israeli children their names are: Neria, Avraham, Yonatan and Segev. I’ve prayed for them. Meanwhile, the slaughter of children is far beyond that from Iraelis killing Palestinian children: 72 innocent children killed this year their names are: Ziad, Maher, Shirin, Amir, Qusay, Tamer, Bilal, Khalil, Nasr, Naim, Ali, Omar, Dardunah, Amjad, Ala, Jacqueline, Iyad, Mahmoud, Hani, Salwa, Salsabeel, Addullah, Abdul-Raouf, Nael, Khaled, Ahmad, Ismail, Abdul-Karim, Ahmad Nimer, Mahmoud, Ahmad Naim, Safah, Mahmoud Naim, Fuad, Abdul-Rahim, Luay Ismail, Luay Jamal, Imad, Mahmoud, Amira, Sharif, Ahmad Nasr, Riad, Yusuf, Kaled, Dia, Abdullah, Muhammad, Bayan, Hussam, Talha, Tariq, Ahmad Aref, Ghassan, Zaki, Ahmad Abdul-Majid, Bilal, Miriam, Masad, Hana, Rudeina, Saleh, Sami, Muntasser, Fahmi, Majid, Hussein, Aya, Hadeel, Muhammad Anwar, Nasr and Tariq. Are you also sad for them, or only for the 4 poor Israeli children? For nearly every Israeli attack on Palestinians you will find an missile attack or suicide bombing that provoked it. Goes to show, you have not done your homework.
It is fine with you that Jews were assaulted for asking someone to remove a flag meant to instigate. Based on the history of Israeli violence, I am sure it didn’t go down that way. It is fine that they called them Nazis and dogs. If it were reversed would you have the same opinion? Doubtful. Calling the people who lost 3/4 of their own to the Nazis, Nazis is digusting. If you actually researched the situation, you’d find many similarities to what was done to the Jews by the Nazis as compared to what the IDF is doing to the Palestinians. Calling people names on either side will not help bring peace or resolution.
Your post would have been fine if it were not so biased and selective and of course it reveals an all to familiar bent of your overly politicized Church that has no sympathy for Jewish suffering as you obviously don’t either. If you knew me, you’d know you are accusing me falsely. At the Last Judgement you will not only know that, you will also know that I truly forgive you.
You are also ignorant of history if you believe that most of the Arab Christians in Israel or the modern Palestinians in general have been there since the fist century. St. James was a Jew as were all of those first Christians in Jerusalem. The Apostles were Jews, that is absolutely correct; however, the majority of converts they brought into the Church in and around Jeruselem were not Jews, they were Arabs. I know of several Arab families that can trace their Christian heritage back to the Bible.
Also interesting is that the Greek Orthodox Patriachate was set up my the them Muslim ruler who removed the Catholic Bishop because he felt the Greeks were more easy to control. Now of course Greeks think they have some stonger claim to Israel than the Jews do. Of course God’s kingdom is not of this world and the Greeks have no business in the Holy Land to begin with. The Greeks were in the Holy Land for centuries before Christ. From Sacred Scripture we know that the true Israelites are those that accepted Jesus and His Teachings and joined His Church. Although I never thought of it before, you are right, Greek Orthodox Christians have more right to be in Jeruselem than non-Christian Jews. Greek Orthodox Christians are more concerned with surviving in the Holy Land as opposed to being wiped off the map as the IDF has planned.
Get some Christian balance on this. You do, after all, worship a Jew. Shame on you for excusing violence and hatred towards Jews who God chose to give us our Lord, His apostles and the Theotokos through. The Jews by blood were in the past because it was through their line of the human race that God the Word chose to take on humanity; however, since Christ came and brought us to the fullness of faith, nationality is of no consequence…what is important now is becoming a Christian, not from what nationality you are. The non-Christian Jews of today are rejecting Christ as were their ancestors…however, there are plenty of non-Christian Jews who are embracing Orthodox Christianity. Here is a book about the story of one person’s conversion:

God loves each one of us regardless of our nationality. We are called to love as He loves. When two groups of people are at war, we must love both sides. We also must look at both sides and the history of the conflict in order to decide which side is right or wrong. Anyone who actually looks at this Middle East situation will see who is true aggressor.
I love and pray for both sides to come to peace. I hope everyone here will also.
