I watched a great documentary on EWTN yesterday morning where this guy uses computer models to demonstrate the Bethlehem star was a real astronomical event. He then went on to look at Revelation and the Cross and what he found was very inspiring! Has anyone else heard about this chap?

I’m *slowly *digesting this site, contemplating it like a young woman with a chocolate bar, or a man polishing his new muscle car.

His scientific and historical observations mesh amazingly to Scripture and logical deduction.

In short,** this. is. incredible. reading.** It’s the type of stuff that makes Scripture come alive and affirming, by giving us more history to make everything that more real and visible, although our faith doesn’t require proof.
 
It is an amazing program and it authenticates the miracle of Our Lady of Guadalupe…there is no way this knowledge could have been known at the time of that miracle

I’d caution people about reading too much into the historical nature of the star and the magi. Yes, it may be historical but that’s not really why the author included it in the Gospel. There’s theological meaning that is primarily intended. After all, doesn’t the Church condemn astrology?

Yes it does but this is more astronomy than anything else…It is like Mary’s Mantle with the planet Virgo placed over her womb on the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe

They were just using the placement of the planets on given years to try to date Christmas, and tying to show us what the sky would have looked like to the Magi

They weren’t trying to predict anyone’s future
