Betrayed by the GOP

jlw,

I am sorry if I mis-read your statements…thank you for the clarification.

I read an article several days ago stating the Bush admin has all but completely dropped the marriage amendment, evidently because the President now feels that the amendment is no longer needed after 11 states approved state bans.

As for abortion, there has been a huge effort to try to get Senator Frist to change the rules of the senate so that the dems can not fillibuster Bush’s appointments…to date Frist does NOT want to take that option because he fears future reprecusion from the dems. Basically, Frist and his allies place future debates over legislation as being more important then saving millions of unborn babies. Couple that with the absolute silence on this matter, and it is easy to see why a person can be concerned. However, even more importantly is the fact that Bush is pushing unspeakably hard to get social security reform and tax reform, along with his recent sweeping statements about speading freedom across the globe–sorry but Bush just does NOT have that much political capital, or time, to spend.

I respect and understand the need for patience, and for calmly playing the game in order to advance a cause–shooting to soon can wreck everything. However, if you closely consider the things I have stated here, I think you can see there is much reason to feel concerned.

My trust in the GOP will be immediately restored if they tackle the very issues that swept them into office, so far they appear to be completely ignoring those issues.

jlw,

If GOP politicians were serious about life, they would be more then willing to give-up their political careers in order to save lives. That is what the Christian ethic means–to sacrifice one’s self for our neighbors. I cannot think of any cause (or career) that exceeds the worth of banning abortion.

Maybe you guys should vot for Pro-Life Democrats whenever you get the chance. That would send a signal to the GOP.
