Greta is 17 years old. In Mississippi she could have been married two years ago. She has proven her emotional maturity.

That’s hardly a good reason, Trump isn’t someone that should be allowed to handle sharp objects. And Greta’s speeches don’t strike me as coming from someone who is emotionally mature, “You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words.” I mean, how silly is that? No, she is very much still a child and has no business in adult discussions.

I’m not wasting my time to actually look but i would bet a large sum that you referred to Treyvon, also 17 from what i recall, as a “child” or “kid” or some other term for young people.

Could it be that you coincidentally don’t believe in her global warming cause? That might influence your judgement on how mature she is. But I would be glad to be shown wrong by citing some posting of yours where you side with the IPCC and climate scientists.

You would lose your money.

You pick the silliest hills to die on. Stop digging in on such ridiculous points.

And the fact that you believe this little girl speaks to you with her emotional maturity is sad. I would never admit that even on a message board.

Is CNN going to ask her to sit on the a panel to discuss next year’s March madness too?
If you’re talking about the college basketball tourney (I missed it sooooo much this year!!!)–I think that Ms. Thunberg would have a heart attack watching it! All those plane trips back and forth for all those basketball teams, all the fossil fuels used by the fans going to the games, all the plastic cups used for beer, and the plastic bowls for nachos, all the fuel used to produce all the fan apparel and to truck the fan apparel around the country–so much energy used up just for a big tournament–I don’t see how she could handle the nightmare.

And to think that Americans do the same thing for the SuperBowl (and the playoffs leading up to it), and the Stanley Cup tourney, and the World Series, and of course, the Mother Lode–the Olympics every two years! Good heavens, the fuel used to shuttle Olympians and their fans all around the world is probably warming up the earth at a million times the everyday rate of warming!

Poor Greta. It must be hard to carry the burden that she carries and know that most of us think we’re doing really good to use a glass instead of a plastic bottle (but…washing the glass puts toxins from the detergent into the ground water–aiiyyeee! There’s no hope for the world!).

No, that isn’t it. I think global warming is a very serious problem. However, I don’t believe that it’s because of callous inaction from the leaders she’s speaking to. If anything she’s preaching to the choir. These are people that agree with her and want to do everything they can to alleviate the problem. The problem is that many of the people she’s speaking to are democratically elected representatives and if they tried sweeping changes they’d be run out of office. Apart from authoritarian regimes politicians don’t get to simply mandate what happens. You see the riots that occurred when France tried to implement a higher fuel tax? Just imagine what might happen with some of the sweeping changes Greta would like to see implemented.

I feel pretty confident it doesn’t bother her any more than it bothers Al Gore to heat seven big houses and fly around in a private jet. Stopping “climate change” by bicycling around, eating grass and turning the thermostat down to “off” is for the proles, not the elites.

It always amazes me to see liberals mock ordinary people.
