Having a humble, gentle, and teachable spirit helps us to navigate the minefields in life. Although I’m typing this for you, it’s also a reminder to me as well.
You know Jesus spoke in parables to teach us things. You can look at our current culture, see what mistakes people have made, and like a parable, learn from their mistakes so that you don’t have to do them. It’s smart. It will save you a lot of grief. The flip side of the coin is that people have walked in God’s blessing, stayed the course to walk with God, and found blessing over the years. They too have a story to tell and if you want to be smart, learn from their example too.
I hope you continue to come here and ask questions of faith. Remaining in God’s blessing is a very smart way to live your life. I wish for all Catholic people of marrying age that they hold out until they find another Catholic person. Someone who goes to the sacraments without being told they have to go. Someone who is looking to follow God’s will. This is a person that you can hold hands and move forward together. Don’t settle for less than this.
The virtues are something that the Church teaches and they are a light onto your path, my path. It’s worth it to study them, try to put them into practice. Having a friend who you can talk virtues with, employ them daily, is a great friend. Someone worth dating. Have a look at them and see how very smart it would be to learn them and try to live your life by them. Maybe you could discuss this with your boyfriend and see how to start putting them into practice. May God bless and guide you today.
