God himself. The Bible is Gods instruction book.
God himself…what?God himself.
The Bible is a complete compilation of Scripture, but it does not contain everything about the Faith. It does not claim to contain every aspect of the Faith nor does it claim to be the sole Authority. The Bible cannot interpret itself, that is where the Magesterium (Church) and Tradition come into play. They interpret the meaning behind the verse.Didn’t the early Church pick the books for the Bible?
Is the Bible lacking anything that is needed for salvation? (not a church or a priest) words and instruction?
What else is needed for salvation that isn’t in the Bible?
Should tradition be ongoing till the end of eartly time?
Even the RCC backs everything up with Scripture right?
So what exactely is lacking in the Bible?
Besides churches. Of course one should belong to a church.
Is the Bible the inspired works of God? Is God over every man?
I don’t understand what you feel the Bible is lacking.
And who did the Holy Spirit instructed to put the Bible together?God himself. The Bible is Gods instruction book.
- Paul did go and spend time with the Apostles and well heard first hand of their accounts I imagine , but God told him not to be afraid and go out to preach
- God told him what to preach. Is that what you mean?
This is for another thread. But… Justification, Papal authority, Confession to a Priest, Intercessory prayers to the saints, to name a few.so I was curious you say you go to Bible study with your protestant friends and do you and them have a different take on some of the scriptures and if so what parts?
Of the many “good protestant churches with good preachers”, that teach different doctrines, which one is the Church that Christ founded?Well I agree that interpretation is important ,but there are many good protestant churches with good preachers , spirit filled, not the ones that hop around on TV mind you.
I’m just wondering what the Bible is missing in terms of what is needed for salvation?
(I’m not talking Lords supper or confession or that) just in scripture what is missing?
Can you elaborate more on Tradition (Im Catholic but I’m not sure what you mean by Tradiiton) can you give me examples?
Also I’m not talking about an individual here that has never belonged to a church , I’m talking about a Church that follows Bible only.
Which Church, one that teaches according to Scripture, there are many good ones out there I’m sure.
Isaiah 45,
Good questions!
Do I take the change in your “affiliation” mean you have come home?:extrahappy:

Praise be to God!Thanks for your prayers brother!
Yes I have, our Lord is indeed Merciful
And I am a very hard headed man…![]()
Welcome Home! 2011 was my year, too.Praise be to God!
so I was curious you say you go to Bible study with your protestant friends and do you and them have a different take on some of the scriptures and if so what parts?**Paul did go and spend time with the Apostles and well heard first hand of their accounts I imagine , but God told him not to be afraid and go out to preach God told him what to preach. You should read Acts 13…1 Now in the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen (who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch) and Saul. 2 While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” 3 So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.
Paul does not go out of his own…instead, the HS acts through others…and is ordained or laid hands on…then, and only then, does he become empowered by the HS…and goes on to his first missionary journey with Barnabas.
See the last verse…"sent them off’…they were sent, and did not act on their own.**
I didn’t say Paul went out on his own.
I was referring to this verseThis is for another thread. But… Justification, Papal authority, Confession to a Priest, Intercessory prayers to the saints, to name a few.
- I don’t think we need to imagine, it is documented in Acts.
- No. God instructed him to preach WITH the other members of His Church.
That has nothing to do with the last supper.Im wondering for “Bible Alone” Christians, do they know that for example in John 6, when Jesus gives the bread discourse, the word eat has different connotations. It becomes more stressed from swallow to chew/gnaw?
Or do BA Christians turn a blind eye to it and believe in just the English translation?

So these are your friends you said, do you stil respect them, do you think they are God loving Christians, do you think they have any chance at salvation? since they are bibe alone I take it.This is for another thread.
