Bible Publishers Sued for Anti-Gay References

The Gospel offends. The truth is hard.

I didn’t realize he was suing Nelson as well! This is pretty ridiculous.
 
This is beyond ridiculous. It’s downright outrageous. Anything for a quick dollar these days. I hope the case is thrown out if it’s not too late for that.
 
Ok, this is just stupid. The Bible has been around for thousands of years; you can’t just up and decide that a passage is offensive and sue about it. One, it’s been around way longer than he has, two, it’s not the publisher’s responsibility for the content of the Bible, and three, so what if a book says something you disagree with? There are millions of books (albeit less important than the Bible) out there, some of whom I’m bound to disagree with. But you wouldn’t see me suing Jack London’s publishers because I think he did a lousy ending to the Sea Wolf, or even the publishers of the Satanic Bible (shudder) for publishing that piece of evil! There’s a right to freedom of the press here, and there’s also a thing called common sense… of which the man apparently has none.
 
I think this is another sign that christianity is coming under fire. It’s time to stand for God’s standards. And not waver. God knows how scared I amd of that. I’m concerned that I won’t be firm. That I might compromise with some things. But, with prayer and scripture on our side, we can stand together against all of this nonsense/evil/or whatever else you want to call it. :bible1:

And I think that the anti-Christian (my opinion) judges who are supposed to safeguard us will probably bow to the one suing just to be political correct ie: making abortion legal.

Of course he is! Sorry for that bit of sarcasm, but it is no more outrageous than some of the other law suits about today. There will be more persecutions of Christians in these end times, no matter how frivolous the issue.

This guy is simply looking for a quick settlement from the publisher to go away. Hopefully, he won’t get it because it will only inspire other nut cases.
 
I pray that a case like this doesn’t make it to one of Canada’s courts or a Human Rights “Tribunal”…it would probably go through.

What happened to the laws against frivolous lawsuits?
 
Fowler, who is representing himself in both lawsuits, claims the publishers are misinterpreting the Bible by specifically using the word homosexuals, which made him an outcast from his family and contributed to physical discomfort and periods of demoralization, chaos and bewilderment.

It would not surprise me if he could not get an attorney to take the case.

FREE SPEACH!!!

I have fought for the freedom of speech at my school whenever they forbid us to read out of the Bible to those who wanted to be there at recese and won. This is just ridiculs.

This smells like something out of George Orwell’s 1984. Freedom is redefined and right and wrong are reduced to what some Government person says it is. The bright side is Otto Von Bismark tried something like this against Catholics in the 1890’s. All he acomplished was to mobilize the faithfull against him.

Geez guys, this isn’t the government doing this. It’s one guy. You can file a lawsuit against anyone for anything as long as you write something down on paper and pay the filing fee. (ex. Some dude sued Satan for violating his civil rights awhile back) Hopefully the case will be dismissed and nothing will come of it. No big deal.
