Sirach 45 :14-15 Which sacrifice? and where does it happen twice a day?
The verse also says “continually”…so is it supposed to happen forever?

The Ancient Jewish animal sacrifice. These verses are talking about Moses and Aaron.
It does not happen now because it could only happen in the Temple in Jerusalem

Every day there were sacrifices offered in the Temple. There were two special sacrifices offered in the temple every day. One was in the morning and one was in the evening. The first was around 9Am (the third hour) and the evening sacrifice was offered around 3pm (the 9th hour) You may see some references to events as happening at around the evening sacrifice. That is how important these sacrifices were.

If a new Temple is ever built, will the animal sacrifices resume is the question now.

I think it’s a strong possibility. In 2018 a new altar was unveiled with a future intended use in a rebuilt temple. This year there was a request to temporarily put the altar upon the Temple Mount, sacrifice a lamb for Passover, and then remove the altar. I didn’t hear whether this was approved or not (I would think not), but now, the whole Temple Mount has been closed due to the virus

The Jewish people themselves according to their own rules are not to step on the Temple Mount because it is holy ground. It is at present the Al-Aqse Mosque. The only ones who can would be the High Priest.

Continuous, without missing a sacrifice. There have been 2 Temples, both destroyed. The first was destroyed in around 422 BC, and most people dragged off to BBylon, in remember the song . by the rivers of Babylon, which is a lament, a Bible passage about the destruction of the Temple. The second was destroyed by the Romans in 60 AD.

It is like the Vatican being destroyed, although we Catholics could still have Mass.

I don’t think this is accurate. I follow “The Temple Institute” in Jerusalem, and this was on their Facebook page on March 22nd: “More than 300 Jews ascended the Temple Mount during the past week. Another 36 ascended today.”
They are not allowed to pray there, but this is a Muslim ruling.

The rules do not mean people will follow them. There are signs on the walls surrounding the Temple Mount. Ascending does not mean going onto, or inside.

Are Jews permitted to visit the mount?

Yes. However, traditional Jewish law has been understood to bar entry to the the site. Jewish tradition regards entry to the Holy of Holies, the innermost sanctum of the temple where God’s presence dwells, as strictly forbidden, and as a result Jews traditionally did not enter the Temple Mount at all for fear of treading on sacred ground. (The exact location of the Holy of Holies is not known.) Though some have challenged this ruling, in 2005 a group of prominent Israeli rabbis, including both the Ashkenazi and Sephardic chief rabbis, reiterated an earlier religious edict that “no man nor woman should set foot in the entire area of the Temple Mount.” The Western Wall, the last standing retaining wall of the Temple Mount, is the closest to the mount that Jews are traditionally permitted to pray.

Problem is no one knows where the holy of holies is situated. So if you are Jewish , rules are dont go onto the Temple Mount

Most seem to be Orthodox Jews in Israel who tend to obey the letter of the rule. Do you have a reference, because I’m curious. thanks

A reference for?

It would be akin to a Catholic walking all over a Tabernacle or altar.

The Temple Institute, as with all Jews, wants a Third Temple. The Temple must be on that site, problem is a very religiously significant Mosque is on that site at the moment. To remove that and gain control of the Temple Mount would take a war , destruction of the Mosque, which if notdone carefully will destroy Christian and Jewish artefact also, the vanquising of the Moslem empire and the list goes on.

It is very political, and there are splinter groups breeding red heifers and planning builds of the Third Temple. They have to wait , like the rest of the Jewish world, for conditions to be right. Its been over 2 000 years so far.

Probably refers to these daily sacrifices:
38 “Now this is what you shall offer upon the altar: two lambs a year old day by day continually. 39 One lamb you shall offer in the morning, and the other lamb you shall offer in the evening; 40 and with the first lamb a tenth measure of fine flour mingled with a fourth of a hin of beaten oil, and a fourth of a hin of wine for a libation. 41 And the other lamb you shall offer in the evening, and shall offer with it a cereal offering and its libation, as in the morning, for a pleasing odor, an offering by fire to the Lord. 42 It shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the tent of meeting before the Lord, where I will meet with you, to speak there to you. (Exodus 29:38-42; also see Numbers 28:3-8)
