I think the Church has no prob with thinking of the woman as either or both. That is as Israel or Mary.

Revelation 12:1 through 12-6 (below) speaks of the persecution of the early church.

Re.12:1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman (Re.12:2, Re.12:4, Re.12:5 below) clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:

**The woman at Revelation 12:1 is with child and is about to be delivered (Re.12:2 below). **

Re.12:2 And she (the woman - Re.12:1 above) BEING WITH CHILD cried, travailing in birth, and pain to be delivered (Re.12:4 below).

**
What we are see in Revelation 12:1-2 is Mary (blessed among women - Lk.1:48) about to deliver Jesus.**

At Revelation 12:3-4 we see a great red dragon/Satan standing before the woman which was ready to be delivered to devour her child as soon as it was born.

Re.12:3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon (Re.12:9, Re.20:2 below), having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.

Re.12:4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman (Re.12:1 above) which was READY TO BE DELIVERED (Re.12:2 above), for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

Re.20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan (Re.12:3 above), and bound him a thousand years.

**
The woman (Re.12:1-2) is delivered of the man child (Re.12: 5 below).**

Re.12:5 And SHE BROUGHT FORTH A MAN CHILD (Matt.1:21 below), WHO WAS TO RULE ALL NATIONS WITH A ROD OF IRON (Re.19:15 below): and her child was caught up unto God (the Father - Col.1:3), and to his throne (Re.7:10, Re.7:17).

Re.19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and HE SHALL RULE THEM WITH A ROD OF IRON (Re.12:5 above): and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

The man child is Jesus (Matt.1:21 below).

Matt.1:21 And she (Re.12:5 above) shall bring forth a son, and thou shall call his name Jesus (Eph.2:20 below) for he shall save his people from their sins.

Eph.2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone (Ps.118:22 below):

Ps.118:22 The stone which the builders refused IS BECOME the head stone of the corner (Eph.2:20 above).

From this point, (Re.12:6, Matt.2:13 below) the church (1 Cor.10:32 below) consists of Jesus, Mary (Lk.1:47), and Joseph.

Re.12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness (Matt.2:13 below), where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

A thousand two hundred and threescore days is 1260 days or 3 ½ years.

Matt.2:13 And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, **Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt ** (Re.12:6 above), and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.

Mary brought forth Jesus, the Word of God the Father made flesh (Jn.1:14). She brought forth He who will rule all nations with a rod of iron (Re.12:5, Re.19:15 above). She brought forth He who would BECOME the chief corner stone (Eph.2:20, Ps.118:22 above) of the church (1 Cor.10:32 below), Christ Jesus’ living body (1 Cor.12:27).

1 Cor.10:32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God.

1 Cor.12:27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

At Revelation 12:1, we see the mother of God (Re.1:6 below), having brought forth the chief corner stone of the church of God (1 Cor.10:32 above), standing in heaven in Spiritual glory.

Re.1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God (Jesus) AND his Father (God Almighty); to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

8
Then the voice that I had heard from heaven spoke to me again and said, “Go, take the scroll that lies open in the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land.”
9
So I went up to the angel and told him to give me the small scroll. He said to me, “Take and swallow it. It will turn your stomach sour, but in your mouth it will taste as sweet as honey.”
10
I took the small scroll from the angel’s hand and swallowed it. In my mouth it was like sweet honey, but when I had eaten it, my stomach turned sour.
11
Then someone said to me, “You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, tongues, and kings.”
I think D M correctly mentioned Ezekiel. I’d suggest reading Ezk 2:8- 3:14

The scroll of Ezekiel contained “words of lamantation and mourning and woe”

The deliverance of the Chruch from the Great Tribulation was a sweet prospect to St. John, but the result of that deliverance was the destruction of his kinsmen and hometown.

**Chapter 11
1
Then I was given a measuring rod like a staff and I was told, “Come and measure the temple of God and the altar, and count those who are worshiping in it.
2
But exclude the outer court of the temple; do not measure it, for it has been handed over to the Gentiles, who will trample the holy city for forty-two months.
3
I will commission my two witnesses to prophesy for those twelve hundred and sixty days, wearing sackcloth.”
4
These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth.
5
5 If anyone wants to harm them, fire comes out of their mouths and devours their enemies. In this way, anyone wanting to harm them is sure to be slain.
6
They have the power to close up the sky so that no rain can fall during the time of their prophesying. They also have power to turn water into blood and to afflict the earth with any plague as often as they wish.
7
When they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the abyss will wage war against them and conquer them and kill them.
8
Their corpses will lie in the main street of the great city, which has the symbolic names “Sodom” and “Egypt,” where indeed their Lord was crucified.
9
Those from every people, tribe, tongue, and nation will gaze on their corpses for three and a half days, and they will not allow their corpses to be buried.
10
The inhabitants of the earth will gloat over them and be glad and exchange gifts because these two prophets tormented the inhabitants of the earth.
11
But after the three and a half days, a breath of life from God entered them. When they stood on their feet, great fear fell on those who saw them.
12
Then they heard a loud voice from heaven say to them, “Come up here.” So they went up to heaven in a cloud as their enemies looked on.
13
At that moment there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell in ruins. Seven thousand people were killed during the earthquake; the rest were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.
14
The second woe has passed, but the third is coming soon.
15
Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet. There were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdom of the world now belongs to our Lord and to his Anointed, and he will reign forever and ever.”
16
The twenty-four elders who sat on their thrones before God prostrated themselves and worshiped God
17
and said: “We give thanks to you, Lord God almighty, who are and who were. For you have assumed your great power and have established your reign.
18
The nations raged, but your wrath has come, and the time for the dead to be judged, and to recompense your servants, the prophets, and the holy ones and those who fear your name, the small and the great alike, and to destroy those who destroy the earth.”
19
Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant could be seen in the temple. There were flashes of lightning, rumblings, and peals of thunder, an earthquake, and a violent hailstorm. **

The two witnesses have been thought to be perhaps Enoch and Elijah, who according to tradition both ascended into heaven before they died, and the fathers of the church have thought that they will come back to prophecy against the world when the beast has its highest dominion before the end comes.

Another interpretation is that it could refer to the law and the prophets, which also witness against the evil in the world.

I think that the part about calling down fire from heaven could be literal, but it also be metaphorical… that is to say that the prophets have the power to smite the nations with their words, and they burn the wicked with what they foretell against them.

Another interesting thing is now we are getting into parts mentioning things like 3 1/2 days, and added to this are things like 3 1/2 years, 1260 days, 1290 days, 42 months, or a ‘time, times, and half a time’, and there appears to be some kind of symbolic meaning (like the symbol of the third that keeps getting smitten in other parts), that I’m not sure how to interpret… I think of things like the three days Jesus was in the tomb, and there are many things that eschatologies have come up with to place meanings to these…

Maybe we’ll just have to find out what it all looks like when it actually happens?

Verses of potential interest:

Measurement and temple of God:

Ezekiel 40:3 When he brought me there, behold, there was a man, whose appearance was like bronze, with a line of flax and a measuring reed in his hand; and he was standing in the gateway.

the temple being given to the nations:

Zechariah 12:3 On that day I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who life it shall grievously hurt themselves. And all the nations of the earth will come together against it.

Luke 21:24 they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led captive among all nations; and Jerusaelm will be trodden down by the Gentiles, until the times of hte Gentiles are fulfilled.

the two lampstands or two olive trees:

Zechariah 4:3 And there are two olive trees by it, one on the right of the bowl and the other on its left."

Zechariah 4:11-14 Then I said to him, “What are these two branches of the olive trees, which are beside the two golden pipes from which the oil is poured out?” He said to me, “Do you not know what these are?” I said, “No, my lord.” Then he said, “These are the two anoited who stand by the Lord of the whole earth.”

People being burned by fire by the prophet:

Jeremiah 5:14 Therefore thus says the Lord, the God of hosts: "Because they have spoken this word, behold, I am making my words in your mouth a fire, and this people wood, and the fire shall devour them.

Shut up the heavens so there is no rain:

1 Kings 17:1 Now Eli’jah the Tishbite, of Thisbe in Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the Lord the God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall be neither dew nor rain these years, except by my word.”

The beast making war on them

Daniel 7:3 And four great beasts came up out of the sea, different from one another.

Daniel 7:7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, terrible and dreadful and exceedingly strong; and it had great iron teeth; it devoured and broke in pieces, and stamped the residue with its feet. It ws different from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.

Daniel 7:21 As I looked, this horn made war with the saints, and prevailed over them,

Allegorically called Sodom

Isaiah 1:10 Hear the word of the Lord, you rulers of Sodom! Give ear to the teaching of our God, you people of Gomor’rah!

Being taken into heaven

1 Kings 2:11 And as they still went on and talked, behold, a chariot of fire and horses of fire separated the two of them. And Eli’jah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

Genesis 5:24 Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.

Coming dominion over all nations:

Daniel 7:14 And to him was given dominion and glory and kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed.

Daniel 7:27 And the kingdom and the dominion and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High; their kingdom shall be an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey them.’

I’m going to try to attach an image from a 15th century woodcut that gives a depiction of Enoch and Elijah prophecying, with antichrist on other side of them (who is interestingly depicted as a medieval emperor) who is also flying with the aid of demons… unfortunately I had to make it smaller in order to get it through… I’m not sure if this will work or not, but here goes:

This is from the historical first fulfillment perspective (Nero as 666)

According to Josephus, the daily sacrifice dedicated to Nero in the Temple was halted in July of 66 A.D. This Jewish provocation led to the declaration of war by Rome in February of 67 A.D. The war ended precisely forty-two months later when the Temple was burned by Titus’s trops in August of 70 A.D.

As long as the Temple stood, the Mosaic system gave voice to the Law and the Prophets. They witnessed against the paganism of both the Romans and the unfaithful Jews. The Law and the Prophets were killed by the beast when biblical Judaism was destroyed in 70 A.D. God’s Truth was not silenced though. The Law and the prophets came back to life though, in the small sect within Judaism called Christianity.

When did the voice of the Old Testament witnesses transfer to Christ’s church? Verse 13

At that moment there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell in ruins. Seven thousand people were killed during the earthquake; the rest were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.

The Temple occupied about a tenth of the land within Jerusalem. It fell in August of 70 A.D.

Let’s make a comparison between the two witnesses and the saints of the most High -

The Two Witnesses -

o The two witnesses will receive God-given power.
o They will have this power for 3 ½ years (Re.11:3).
o After they have finished their testimony (after the 3 ½ years of God-given power) the beast will make WAR against the two witnesses, and he will overcome them, and he will kill them (Re.11:7).

The saints of the most High -

 WAR will be made with the saints of the most High (Dan.7:21, Dan.7:25 below).
 The mighty and holy people will be destroyed (Dan.8:24 below).
 Those who do not worship the image of the beast will be killed (Re.13:15 below).
 It will take 3 ½ years to accomplish to scatter the power of the holy people (Dan.12:7 below).

Dan.7:21 I beheld, and the same (little) horn (king) MADE WAR WITH THE SAINTS, and prevailed against them (Dan.7:25 below);

Dan.7:25 And he (the little horn/king - Dan.7:8, Dan.7:24) shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High (Re.15:3), and think to change times and laws (Re.13:15, Dan.11:31): and they (the saints) shall be given into his hand until A TIME and TIMES and THE DIVIDING OF TIME (3 ½ years/1260 days) .

Dan.8:24 And his (the king’s - Dan.8:23, little horn’s - Dan.8:9, Dan.7:24) power shall be mighty, but not by his own power (but Satan’s - Re.13:11-12): and he shall destroy wonderfully (Re.13:15), and shall prosper, and practice, and SHALL DESTROY THE MIGHTY AND THE HOLY PEOPLE (Dan.12:7, Col.1:22, Eph.1:4).

Re.12:17 And the DRAGON (Re.12:9, Re.20:2) was wroth with the woman (the church of God - 1 Cor.10:32, Col.1:22, Col.1:24), and WENT TO MAKE WAR WITH THE REMNANT (the rest) OF HER SEED, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Re.13:7 And it was given unto him (the beast of Re. 13:1) TO MAKE WAR WITH THE SAINTS, AND TO OVERCOME THEM: and (Satanic) power was given him (Re.13:2) over ALL kindreds, and tongues, and nations (Dan.7:23, Re.17:15).

Re.13:15 And he (another beast coming up out of the earth - Re.13:11) had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as WOULD NOT WORSHIP the IMAGE of the beast SHOULD BE KILLED .

Re.16:6 For they (those who had the mark of the beast, and those who worshipped his image) have shed the blood of SAINTS and PROPHETS, and thou hast given them blood to drink (Re.16:4); for they are worthy. (of this punishment)

Re.17:6 And I saw the woman (that great city Babylon - Re.17:5) drunken with the blood of the SAINTS (Dan.7:21, Re.13:7, Re.13:15, Re.11:7), and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus (Re.18:24): and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

Dan.12:6 And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the END of these wonders?

Dan.12:7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for A TIME, TIMES, AND AN HALF (3 ½ years or 1260 days); and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people (Dan.8:24, Re.11:3, Re.11:7), all these things shall be FINISHED (Re.10:7).

I conclude that the two witnesses are the saints of the most High (Matt.24:9, Dan.7:21, Dan.7:25, Dan.8:24, Re.12:17, Re.13:7, Re.13:15, Re.16:6, Re.17:6, Dan.12:6-7).

The war against the saints of the most High (Re.11:7, Dan.7:21, Dan.7:25) will conclude with the last two of the two witnesses, the two PROPHETS (Re.11:8-12), being slain at the last week prior to the Seventh Trumpet (Re.11:11-12, 1 Thess.4:16-17).

that is cool, i always wondered what the meaning of that tenth was. thanks, ryan!

Chapter 12
1
A great sign appeared in the sky, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.
2
She was with child and wailed aloud in pain as she labored to give birth.
3
Then another sign appeared in the sky; it was a huge red dragon, with seven heads and ten horns, and on its heads were seven diadems.
4
Its tail swept away a third of the stars in the sky and hurled them down to the earth. Then the dragon stood before the woman about to give birth, to devour her child when she gave birth.
5
She gave birth to a son, a male child, destined to rule all the nations with an iron rod. Her child was caught up to God and his throne.
6
The woman herself fled into the desert where she had a place prepared by God, that there she might be taken care of for twelve hundred and sixty days.
7
Then war broke out in heaven; Michael and his angels battled against the dragon. The dragon and its angels fought back,
8
but they did not prevail and there was no longer any place for them in heaven.
9
The huge dragon, the ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, who deceived the whole world, was thrown down to earth, and its angels were thrown down with it.
10
Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have salvation and power come, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Anointed. For the accuser of our brothers is cast out, who accuses them before our God day and night.
11
They conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; love for life did not deter them from death.
12
Therefore, rejoice, you heavens, and you who dwell in them. But woe to you, earth and sea, for the Devil has come down to you in great fury, for he knows he has but a short time.”
13
When the dragon saw that it had been thrown down to the earth, it pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child.
14
But the woman was given the two wings of the great eagle, so that she could fly to her place in the desert, where, far from the serpent, she was taken care of for a year, two years, and a half-year.
15
The serpent, however, spewed a torrent of water out of his mouth after the woman to sweep her away with the current.
16
But the earth helped the woman and opened its mouth and swallowed the flood that the dragon spewed out of its mouth.
17
Then the dragon became angry with the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring, those who keep God’s commandments and bear witness to Jesus. It took its position on the sand of the sea.

This is one of my favourite parts… the imagery is just incredible… a great red dragon waiting to devour an innocent baby boy that is being birthed…

As was stated earlier the woman is often interpreted to be Israel with the twelves stars representing the twelve tribes, and the child is the messiah… and Mary is also interpreted to be the woman, as the holy queen who gave birth to Jesus.

I wonder also if after Mary fled from Herod if her sojourn in Egypt lasted 1260 days? That would fit very nicely…

Sometimes this reminds me of the apparition at Fatima with the great red dragon representing the soon to be formed atheistic Soviet Union (ie. the errors of Russia that Mary at fatima spoke about)…

How do we interpret the part about the child being caught up to God?

The two wings of the great eagle sounds an awful lot like the intercession of an angel (and an angel did come to Joseph to warn him to go to Egypt)

and again… we see a third of the stars fall with satan… which some have thought to mean that a third of the angels went with satan against God in the war in heaven… although the reference I have in Daniel below seems to suggest the devil may have been trampling or maybe fighting against these stars/angels, so maybe its the opposite…like a third of the angels did not rebel and 2/3 went?

Verses of potential interest

A woman in labour pains:

Micah 4:10 Writhe and groan, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail; for now you shall go forth from the city and dwell in the open country; you shall go to Babylon. There you shall be rescued, there the Lord will redeem you from the hand of your enemies.

Beast with ten horns:

Daniel 7:7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, terrible and dreadful and exceedingly strong; and it had great iron teeth; it devoured and broke in pieces, and stamped the residue with its feet. It was different from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.

Beast casting down stars of heaven:

Daniel 8:10 It grew great, even to the host of heaven; and some of the host of the stars it cast down to the ground, and trampled upon them.

Rule the nations with a rod of iron:

Psalms 2:7-9 I well tell of the decree of the Lord; He said to me, "You are my son, today I have begotten you. Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage, and the ends of the earth your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron, and dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessl

Michael fighting devil:

Daniel 10:13 The prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; but Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, so I left him therere with the prince of the kingdom of Persia.

Satan as the accuser being rebuked:

Zechariah 3:1-2 Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him. And the Lord said to Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, O Satan! The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is not this a brand plucked from teh fire?”

Satan accusing humans

Job 1:9-11 Then Satan answered the Lord, “Does Job fear God for naught? Hast thou not put a hedge about him and his house and all that he has, on every side? Thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. But put forth thy hand now, and touch all that he has, and he will curse thee to thy face.”

Rejoicing of creation:

Isaiah 44:23 Sing, O heavens, for the Lord has done it; shout, O depths of the earth; break forth into singing, O mountains, O forest, and every tree in it! For the Lord has redeemd Jacob, and will be glorified in Israel.

a time, times and half a time:

Daniel 12:6-7 And I said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the stream, “How long shall it be till the end of these wonders?” The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the stream, raised his right hand and his left hand toward heaven; and I heard him swear by him who lives for ever that it would be for a time, two times, and half a time; and that when the shattering of the power of the holy people comes to an end all these things would be accomplished.

Compair
5 She gave birth to a son, a male child, destined to rule all the nations with an iron rod. Her child was caught up to God and his throne.
So then the Lord Jesus, after he spoke to them, was taken up into heaven and took his seat at the right hand of God. (Mark 16:19)
I wonder also if after Mary fled from Herod if her sojourn in Egypt lasted 1260 days? That would fit very nicely…
Since the early Church, Mary has also been accepted as a symbol and type of the Chruch.

the 1,260 days is the Church fleeing during the (forty-two months/ three-and -a-half-years/ time, and times, and half a time).
The two wings of the great eagle sounds an awful lot like the intercession of an angel
He found them in a wilderness, a wasteland of howling desert. He shielded them and cared for them, guarding them as the apple of his eye. As an eagle incites its nestlings forth by hovering over its brood, So he spread his wings to receive them and bore them up on his pinions. The LORD alone was their leader, no strange god was with him. (Deut 32:10-12)

Then those in Judea must flee to the mountains. Let those within the city escape from it, and let those in the countryside not enter the city (Luke 21:21)

4 Its tail swept away a third of the stars in the sky and hurled them down to the earth. Then the dragon stood before the woman about to give birth, to devour her child when she gave birth.
Typical apocalyptic language denoting political upheaval. (which Satan is behind)

Revelation 12:13-17 gives an overview of the persecution of the woman (the church - 1 Cor.10:32 below), those blessed who come to the thirteen hundred and thirty-five days (Dan.12:12) prior to the Seventh Trumpet (1 Thess.4:16-17).

The 144,000 (the remnant of Israel - Re.14:1-7, Zeph.3:13) have a place prepared for them to protect them for a time, and times, and half a time (Re.12:14 – 3 ½ years) prior to the ascension.

The 144,000 have been sealed (Re.7:1-4) that they will not see death. They are those who are alive and remain (1 Thess.4:17).

Satan THEN turns his attention to the remnant of the woman (Re.12:17), the church (1 Cor.10:32 below), as they stand against the beasts of Revelation chapter 13.

The partial blindness of Israel will have been lifted (Rom.11:25) at the Sixth SEAL (Re.6:12-17).

From that day and forward (Eze.37:22) Israel will know that Jesus is the Savior, the Lamb (Re.14:1), thereby becoming a “new creature” (2 Cor.5:17, Eze.36:26) the church of God (1 Cor.10:32 below).

1 Cor.10:32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God (1 Cor.1:2, 1 Cor.15:9, Gal.1:13).

The four beasts of Daniel chapter 7 come up from the sea (Dan.7:3) arising out of the earth (Dan.7:17). They come out from the bottomless pit once it has been opened at the Fifth TRUMPET, First Woe (Re.9:1-2, 12).

These four beasts arise out of the bottomless pit at that same time. I believe these satanic spiritual entities will possess kings, similarly as Satan entered into Judas (Lk.22:3).

The four beasts are the transgressors (Dan.8:23) and are of a single nation with a plural kingdom (Dan.8:22-23).

AFTER the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up (Dan.8:23). He is the little horn (Dan.7:8), the false prophet.

The fourth beast of Daniel chapter 7 is seen in the book of Revelation as the beast of Revelation 13:1.

The little horn/false prophet is seen in the book of Revelation as the beast of Revelation 13:11.

After the battle of Armageddon, the first three beasts/kings of the four beasts/kings (Dan.7:3, Dan.7:17) will have their lives prolonged for a season and time beyond the destruction of the fourth beast/king at the battle of Armageddon (Dan.7:11-12).

Why was Jesus reborn?
Jesus was not reborn. Catholics don’t believe all of revelation to be a prophecy. Some of it is just simply revelation John also saw Satan tossed out of heaven. How many times did God toss him out?

No he was not tossed but once John just saw it happen

Thee is anothe thing Catholics believe and that is heaven is perpetual so the sacrafice of Christ is perpetually still taken place. That is why John still sees the lamb as if slain.

I don’t know how Catholics veiw the birth or Satan being tossed out of heaven if it is any similarity to the perpetual sacrafice or not

Maybe someone else can help with that

Good question

John’ must prophecy again (Re.10:9-11). John’s little book prophecy will be understood in the latter days.

The little book prophecy is the message the two witness will prophecy (Re.11:3) during the three and a half years prior to the tribulation under the beasts/kings of Revelation 13:1 and 13:11.

The little book is seen in the book of Daniel as the scripture of truth (Dan.10:21); they give the same message, but without the book of Daniel, which was sealed to the time of the end, Revelation’s prophetic message cannot be understood.

The chronology of John’s end-time prophetic message is absolute; it will come to pass, .as it is “written”.

**Chapter 13
1
Then I saw a beast come out of the sea with ten horns and seven heads; on its horns were ten diadems, and on its heads blasphemous name (s).
2
The beast I saw was like a leopard, but it had feet like a bear’s, and its mouth was like the mouth of a lion. To it the dragon gave its own power and throne, along with great authority.
3
I saw that one of its heads seemed to have been mortally wounded, but this mortal wound was healed. Fascinated, the whole world followed after the beast.
4
They worshiped the dragon because it gave its authority to the beast; they also worshiped the beast and said, “Who can compare with the beast or who can fight against it?”
5
The beast was given a mouth uttering proud boasts and blasphemies, and it was given authority to act for forty-two months.
6
It opened its mouth to utter blasphemies against God, blaspheming his name and his dwelling and those who dwell in heaven.
7
It was also allowed to wage war against the holy ones and conquer them, and it was granted authority over every tribe, people, tongue, and nation.
8
All the inhabitants of the earth will worship it, all whose names were not written from the foundation of the world in the book of life, which belongs to the Lamb who was slain.
9
Whoever has ears ought to hear these words.
10
Anyone destined for captivity goes into captivity. Anyone destined to be slain by the sword shall be slain by the sword. Such is the faithful endurance of the holy ones.
11
Then I saw another beast come up out of the earth; it had two horns like a lamb’s but spoke like a dragon.
12
It wielded all the authority of the first beast in its sight and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose mortal wound had been healed.
13
It performed great signs, even making fire come down from heaven to earth in the sight of everyone.
14
It deceived the inhabitants of the earth with the signs it was allowed to perform in the sight of the first beast, telling them to make an image for the beast who had been wounded by the sword and revived.
15
It was then permitted to breathe life into the beast’s image, so that the beast’s image could speak and (could) have anyone who did not worship it put to death.
16
It forced all the people, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to be given a stamped image on their right hands or their foreheads,
17
so that no one could buy or sell except one who had the stamped image of the beast’s name or the number that stood for its name.
18
Wisdom is needed here; one who understands can calculate the number of the beast, for it is a number that stands for a person. His number is six hundred and sixty-six. **
