Sometimes it is best not to argue in these situations. What I think is best is to live the holiness that God is calling you to live and to pray for your friend.
Remember that the Church also preaches. So, the preaching is the message. The Bible is the written message which is passed down. And, the Magisterium is the instructor who explains the message and interprets the written word. It’s more like giving the paper to someone, have them write it down, then give that paper to the next person, who writes it down, who gives that paper to the next person.
Yes, Peter is here to explain. He does so with Papal documents. He also has the Church to Teach and the Scriptures which are passed down. As well as many Catechisms and Council documents which explain everything again.the telephone game works with writing too, just tends to take a bit longer. they didnt have computers or typewriters. when someone makes a typo or their handwriting was smudged, that word is forever altered in every copy. peter isnt here to explain what he meant. we have copies of copies of copies of copies.
Jesus Commands that His Followers bring the issues to the Church and that the Church’s counsel must be accepted or the individual/s excommunicated by the Church.17 If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector. (St. Matthew 18)
You might have to answer for that at Judgement. The Apostles were cowards.
hmmmm…We have to interiorly recognize our dungheap of sin.
Because we get wet. As far as the Bible, one must have faith in the NT writings and to believe in Catholic teaching one must have faith in Catholic interpretation. Why should we believe there is such a thing as rain?

It takes faith too. Not everyone is Jewish or Christian. Or Catholic Christian for that matter. And what about the Old Testament writings?
I concur with you; how profitable is it to dupe everyone in the world to Love God Above all and their neighbor as themselves? …so a world of do gooders is bad?Yes the bible could have been put together by people with an agenda to suit their needs, but that arguement doesn’t really make much sense, I mean what kind of conspiracy is it to create something about eternal salvation ? Where is the big ah ha in duping people in that and why ?
