Bible writers teach monotheism and identify the Father as the one God

There is only one God. Now Jesus proclaims He is God several times in the NT and the only words spoken from God as our Father in Heaven is in support of His son. If Jesus is God which we believe through the mystery of the Trinity, it is faith that keeps us stronge in His word. So do You believe Jesus is a lier throughout the NT or do you believe through Faith that Jesus is all Truth. If you believe Him to be deceitful, why would you honor Him as even a prophet or acknowledge Him as the Son of God?

That illustrates why I have that poster on ignore. He makes bald assertions and then challenges me in a most respectful way to answer them. If you look at my post on Monotheism you in my .sig file you will see that I have already presented the verses that identify the one-God or only-God of Christian monotheism, and that these verses identify the Father.

I addition, Jesus never uses the word God (Greek QEOS) as a description of himself, let alone the one-God or only-God who he himself identifies as his Father (cp John 17:3,** [1]**).

He does say he is the Son of God.

It is ironic that this poster says I make Jesus a liar when it is he who puts words in the mouth of our Lord Jesus Christ. I merely quote him verbatim.

This post was in another thread and since it has not been addressed and is a bit of a departure from the original thread, I am placing it here. I am interested in how Catholics view the biblical monotheism I presented in this post.

•  NAB **Ephesians 4:6 ****one God and Father** of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

•  NAB **1 Timothy 2:5** For there is **one God**. There is also **one mediator between God and the human race, Christ Jesus**, himself human [context mandates the one God is the Father]

•  NAB John 5:43 I came in the name of **my Father,** but you do not accept me; yet if another comes in his own name, you will accept him. 44 How can you believe, when you accept praise from one another and do not seek the praise that comes from **the only God**?

•  NAB Jude 1:25 to **the only God**, our savior, **through Jesus Christ our Lord** be glory, majesty, power, and authority from ages past, now, and for ages to come. Amen. [the one God distinguished from Jesus]

•  NAB John 17:3 Now this is eternal life, that they should know you, **the only true God**, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ. [Jesus praying to his Father]

When bible writers articulate the concept of monotheism they also at the same time frequently identify the Father as that one God.

That is the monotheism of the bible writers and what they teach in context.

Its more than a matter of stating the obvious. The Father is the one God and the one God is the Father. The Father is the only-God and the only-God is the Father. The Father exhausts the category of ‘one-God’ and only-God’.

What I wrote illustrates I have no inclination to offer political correctness or stroke someone’s pride at the expense of the word of God nor should any Christian but defned it from distortion. Your practice is to block out anyone who presents you Biblical text that shows the JW faith absolutely distorted. Your blocking my words only stops YOU from seeing what I write and the scripture I present that shows your misguided beliefs but your display more interest in your pride than the truth which is God. When someone belongs to a belief system that has not been in existence for even 200 years and that person believes them self to be more knowledgeable in all aspects of translating ancient Greek and Hebrew over and above every group of scholars who have served to translate and interpret and verify scripture for 2000 years, one expresses arrogances. That is not to speak of Russell’s justifying his beliefs with claims in direct opposition of scripture itself.

Is Jesus God… Absolutely. One in Being with the Father. You can claim he is not but no matter what you refer to Him as, if you deny Him to be God, you claim both He and the Heavenly Father are deceiving.

The red text pretty much says it to denounce any claim Jesus and Saint Michael could be the same.
