Biblical Discipline?

Thanks for the thoughtful responses in particular to monicatholic. I just wanted to get a feel for how prevalent this kind of “discipline” is and if there are some Catholic circles advocating for the same thing. I personal believe that Protestant circles sometimes enable the mentally unstable and their ideas into the mainstream of their groups. Just look at the stuff the virulent anti-Catholics put out there like “Mary Worship”, “Pope as the Anti-Christ”, etc, this comes from unstable minds and this so called “biblical discipline” is just another wild idea. If our church endorsed these practices just think of the abuse that we would get for it.

P.s. I am building my knowledge base on this subject for when I next meet with my fundamentalist friend. To be fair he is a loving father who sacrifices for his children who seem to be well adjusted. He did not mention the Pearls, they just come up first when this subject is treated. The one he recommended was this Dr. Ted’s “Shepherding a child’s heart”.

God Bless all

this is welcome news. i don’t have time to look into Dr. Teds’ but the title alone relieves a lot of fears.

your child (and all your future children) is blessed Maximus. his mother and father are caring, conscientious and Catholic.

what a blessing.
