Guys, let us focus ON THE RAPTURE. Please. I enjoy this thread and it doesn’t need to be closed.

Show me the core verses that make up the Rapture belief, please.
Sorry you do not see the connection or the line of thought and reasoning to which this is heading which deals directly with the topic.

There probably is a decent one to it, but cutting to the chase might be more helpful to our cause of keeping this thread alive. If you wish to speak of predestination, open another thread.

I’m not sure what you mean. This is a clear, pure example of the Second Coming. And NOT of the Rapture.

There is only one time of the Resurrection of the Dead, which happens when Christ returns. There is no scriptural evidence to suggest otherwise. Because as you can clearly see, this bible verse speaks of that resurrection, and then we will have the Day of Judgment.
Are the Jews who will be converted during the 1000 year reign and are martyred fictitious? If not, then there is more than one resurrection of the dead; not the same dead reresurrected, as taught in the bible.

For your sake I will do two things. I will not post anything else on this thread and I will not respond to another one of your posts. Charity includes patience and wisdom and understanding have elements of patience - to see how things unfold in order to gain understanding.

May God bless your soul.

CatHerder & Others - I apologize that I will not be responding to your posts (see above & more above); perhaps some of my questions & you questions will comeforth in another place and we can talk about them there. Thanks for you posts and may God bless each of you.

Where is this found? Again, I do not see any biblical connection to this. And yes, there is more than one resurrection of dead people, for example, when Christ was resurrected, many who had died rose again. However, there is a final resurrection of the dead, noted several times by Paul, and this happens at the Second Coming of the Lord Christ. Not at the Rapture.

No disrespect, but do you see what you actually posted from the written Word. There is no plainer Scripture than that, The dead will rise first, they have six feet further to go…LOL, then in verse 17 the rest who are alive will be “caught up” in the air to meet the Lord in the clouds.
This is where Scripture ends and your fallible opinion begins.
The guess what; no more Christians left on earth and let the hand of God’s restraining grace be removed and pity the poor folk left behind. Now it is tribulation time and time to deal with the Jews as promised and with the wicked as God has promised; He now has his bride, the church.
Who are the “Jews?” I couldn’t get MD to answer that question. Maybe you will? … I guess not. 😦

Jesus is the living and complete Word of God (John 1). The Bible is not Jesus. However, because the Holy Spirit speaks through the words of the human authors, the Church declared the Bible to be the written Word of God; a portion or offshoot of the living Word. The Bible never calls itself the Word of God and this is important to remember when you get jumped by a fundamentalist who asserts both sola Scriptura and that the Bible is the Word of God.
Well of course. That’s my point. Jesus is the Word of God. The Bible is the word of God. etc.

The Bible never calls itself the Bible, just as it never calls itself the Word of God.

Again, context is essential when one uses the phrase “word of God”.

Your question must have a hidden agenda since I answered it the first time. Or are you asking where the literal name Jesus is in the ot and if so I would ask why?

Since the ot reveals the redemptive word of God, the redeemer is mentioned in every book of the bible.

The redeemer is Jesus, redeemer talked about in ot, equals Jesus referred to in ot.
No hidden agenda. I am asking about “Jesus” which was the claim in the post I originally responded to. I just don’t see any reference to “Jesus” in the Old Testament.

If the redeemer is indeed mentioned in every book of the Bible, can you give a reference for such a claim? That’s a huge task…so let me narrow the question…where is the redeemer mentioned in the books of e.g. Ecclesiastes, Song of Songs, Esther, 1 and 2 Kings…for starters.

Thanks.

Some rapturists have given the impression that only faith in Jesus is necessary because when the believers are raptured away,.Jesus will cleanse the world and fix everything.
However, one can obtain a different impression in Matthew 24 and 25 that Jesus expects each and every one of us to make the world right by feeding Jesus, clothing Jesus, giving drink to Jesus.
What is so nice about scripture is that you can pick and choose those passages that justify your viewpoint.

Dear One, you are confusing the rapture with the 2nd advent. Matthew 24 and 25 do not have the rapture in view, but the tribulation and the 2nd coming. Paul is the only N.T. writer to speak of believers in this dispensation of the grace of God being caught up [in the air]. I pray that you will soon realize this truth. BTW, Romans 16:20 is a very interesting Scripture for believers in this dispensation.
Grace and Peace,
QC

I like what gtrenewed wrote from Matthew 25 and Paul. This is what Jesus is saying about the last days. I think the rapture business and dispensationalism is a dream; I guess we have no responsibility because Jesus will fix everything.
