It appears that Pelosi and Biden did receive communion.

Like I said in an earlier thread about this topic, I wasn’t sure if they would be denied communion so quickly into Pope Francis reign.

Nothing in either news link verifies what you wrote. Fact: Pope Francis let it be known before his mass that he would not be distributing communion to dignitaries. In the video of his mass, after giving communion by intinction to a few deacons who assisted with the mass, he took his chair and did not distribute.

The mass video also showed 500 priests being sent throughout the crowd of 1,000,000 attendees, and unless the TV cameras happened to focus on ONE of those priests who just happened to be distributing to either of them, it is just pure media sensationalism without fact. I seriously doubt that these foreign priests would recognize these two anyway, and if they distributed to them, it would have been inadvertent.
 
Two statements from the first article stood out:

“Vice President Biden and Nancy Pelosi should certainly not receive Communion, either at the papal installation or anywhere else. Communion means ‘union,’ and they are not in union with the Church on the most fundamental moral issue of the right to life,” said the Rev. Frank Pavone, founder of Priests for Life, a U.S.-based Catholic anti-abortion organization. “Should they receive at this ceremony, there will be a public uproar, and rightly so.”

and:

“We should be conscious that people cannot receive holy communion and at the same time act or speak against the commandments, in particular when abortion, euthanasia, and other serious crimes against life and family are facilitated,” Latin American bishops, including Francis, said in a 2007 statement issued after a general conference in Aparecida, Brazil. “This responsibility applies particularly to legislators, governors, and health professionals.”

So, given Biden’s and Pelosi’s PUBLIC support for abortion (murder) on demand (which is Scandal in and of itself) and IF they did not receive sacramental confession prior to Communion, then I think it is correct to say that they would be adding Scandal to Scandal by receiving Holy Communion.

But I don’t think it was clear from either article if they had actually received Communion. Perhaps they thought twice about adding Scandal to Scandal.
 
I am closing this thread for the same reason I closed the others on this topic.

We are not to pass judgement upon the spirituality of fellow Catholics or politicians in the forums.
