So, I guess the magic question becomes: will Biden and Pelosi present themselves for Communion and if they decide to present themselves for Holy Communion will the Vatican make it clear that they must publicly withdraw their support for abortion on demand and go to Confession before receiving Communion?

Were they invited or were they directed to go as the U.S. representatives?

I think this would be a state visit. The pope is the head of state.

Good question. But not the Vatican, the Pope. I bet this will be worked out in advance.

I’m sorry but that is just wrong. They are the two worst supporters of abortion that our nations government has and they are being chosen, just because they state that they are Catholic, to go to the inaugural mass for Pope Francis. That is, very much so, wrong. I think that they should not be allowed to go and that our government should send some good Catholics like Paul Ryan or Rick Santorum. Not two pro-choice fanatics like Pelosi and Biden.

Your post made me lol. Not *at you *at all though.

Our government doing something wrong like send these two to the papal inaugural…lol.

This is a state visit. People were chosen in order of precedence from the executive and legislative branches. That they are Catholic is not the point. They don’t necessarily need to be. Now I agree that since they are Catholic but not in good standing, they should have the sense to not present themselves for communion - or go to confession ahead of time!

Not good enough. Since they are public dissenters, they must also make their confession public.

I would love to hear this conversation, the Pope, Biden and Pelosi.

AMEN!! Agreed…I would think this would entail slightly more than just going to private confession. They are one of the biggest scandals in the Church at present. “Personally, they don’t believe in the policies, but they represent everyone”. What a crock. They are so blinded by the darkness, they really believe this line. And the question remains…where is their Bishop? They present themselves for communion while promoting this stuff? It’s a slap in the Church’s face.

Not their confession. That is always a private matter. But their change of attitude toward abortion and homosexual “marriage”, yes. However, I wouldn’t want to see politicians taking over this occasion for their press conferences.

They really should not be going. Even they must have some form of morals and know that this is wrong for them to go representing this nation at the inauguration mass of this great Pope. They are Catholics and I believe that is why the Obama administration chose them to go to the Vatican. Even though there are many other great representatives of this nation that could have gone and that are practicing Catholics, this government should have been smart enough to say no to Pelosi and Biden who are very anti-Catholic in their viewpoints and morals.

What a crummy choice. They should stay home. I hope they aren’t even shown on TV:mad:

It is not up to you to decide, now is it? The US of A is not a theocracy. Keep that in mind.🤷

Ryan and Santorum can buy a ticket and go, they are free to do so.

I think we’re being given a great chance here to pray for these people who have wandered so far from home. Personally, I don’t like either Biden or Pelosi - but we have to remember that Christ calls us to love our enemies, and to pray for those who persecute us. It would be right and just for them to be refused the Eucharist - but we shouldn’t crow over it and see it as a victory. It would be a public illustration of the fact that here are two souls in deep need of healing and prayer, teetering on the edge of the pit. Refusal of the Sacraments and Excommunication should make us weep for the person, not shout for joy, because they have taken themselves so far away from God. Please pray for these souls who seem determined to wander in darkness.
