No, she did her job by inquiring whether a judicial nominee could abide by the Constitution first and his personal religious beliefs second.

There are many qualified people out there and the political effect of a choice is always gauged. Check the veep picks of Lincoln and JFK. Qualifications are certainly not irrelevant and Ms. Harris brings more to the table than being a woman and having dark skin.

I think it shows more animosity to the Knights (who have not had an unblemished record) and the pro-life crowd than anti-Catholic bigotry.
