Bill Moyers is a big left-wing personality. That’s one thing to note.

Otherwise, Catholic who understand what the Pope is saying don’t seem to be upset with him at all. For myself I’m just not entirely sure what he’s getting at with some of his economic comments.

I disagree with the statement about Jesus having no problem with what the prostitute was doing. If He had no problem with her living her life like that, He wouldn’t have said, I forgive you your sins. If there is no problem, what is to forgive? Rather, he LOVES so much, he is capable of separating the sin from the person. Does he care if she lives like a prostitute, of course he does! It can only cause her pain, and her clients and their family problems. This is not how God wants her to live and He can see how it could be for her. Does he love her any less? No!

This is why we should follow Christ’s example to love everyone, including the sinner. Does Christ tolerate sin? Not sure if this guy means something different than what he actually said.
