I don’t understand what you’re asking, but I’d say Mother Angelica for everyone!

Billy Graham- A retired world wide evangelist who has reached millions of people in stadiums across the world with good intentions but an incredibly anemic presentation of the faith. An inspiring speaker who did’t have the complete concept of FAITH.

Mother Angelica- A redemptive suffering poor claire nun- who with God’s help miraculously built the world’s Largest global television network (in viewership) which is reaching more people right now than billy graham ever did. Another inspiring speaker who presents the splendor of Truth and the FULLNESS of faith.

I really see no contest. Mother Angelica for Protestants AND Catholics.

I like Billy Graham, at least he doesn’t bash Catholics.

I prefer Mother Angelica, of course, but I do pray that before he dies Mr. Graham becomes Catholic. Wouldn’t that be wonderful?

Billy Graham is very inspiring to me as a Catholic who has seen my fair share of preachers bashing the Catholic Church. He has a love of Jesus which allows him to do what he can to spread the gospel he knows.

Mother Angelica who is inspiring in how anyone if they allow God to use them can be capable of touching people around the world. Now if only there were more Catholics like this imagine how this country would be.

Billy Graham reminds me of Apollos, an eloquent man, well-versed in the Scriptures, instructed in the way of the Lord, and fervent in spirit, who spoke and taught accurately the things concerning Jesus but who needs the way of God more accurately expounded to him:24Now a Jew named Apol’los, a native of Alexandria, came to Ephesus. He was an eloquent man, well versed in the scriptures. 25He had been instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in spirit, he spoke and taught accurately the things concerning Jesus, though he knew only the baptism of John. 26He began to speak boldly in the synagogue; but when Priscilla and Aq’uila heard him, they took him and expounded to him the way of God more accurately. (Acts 18:24-26)

From the example of Apollos, being eloquent, well-versed in the Scriptures, and fervent in spirit are not guarantees that what one speaks and teaches is the fullness of the truth.

A little off topic, but is Franklin as ecumenical as Pop?

Congratulations on becoming Catholic Paris. I will keep you in my prayers everyday that you continue to grow in holiness.

**I don’t the question but can I add Brett Favre? **

OT - Taking timeout from arguing with Bears fans. The Bears are having a little success this year and they act like the Bears have owned the Packers for 15 years when it’s been the opposite.

**I wonder if I should start a prayer thread for Favre to play like his old self against da Bears and layeth the smacketh down on them for the 12th straight time in the Land of Lincoln? **

Hmmm. Are you aware that Billy Graham is a Catholic theologian? It’s absolutely true - he *really *is! He holds a Doctorate Degree (honorary) in theology from Bellmont Abbey College outside his hometown of Charlotte, NC (awarded November, 1967).

Bellmont Abbey College is a Catholic seminary.

The Catholic Church will recognize anyone as a ā€œCatholic theologianā€ who holds a degree in theology from a Catholic college and does not teach contrary to the Catholic Faith. You need not actually be Catholic to be recognized as a ā€œCatholic Theologian.ā€

While Billy Graham preaches Evangelical protestantism, he does not preach against the Catholic Church or preach doctrines which are overtly heretical (at least not heretical enough for the Church to strip him of his recognition).

Therefore, Billy Graham is a ā€œCatholic Theologianā€ in good standing.

How about that???

This information about Mr. Graham being a Catholic theologian is very interesting and could help to explain his remarkable success given that he lacks the ā€œfullness of the Faithā€. He is obviously a man who adores God and respects all people. He is following Jesus’ example in his preaching. I agree with the description of Apollos when describing Rev. Graham.

You guys are cracking me up 😃 : :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

The Franklin Graham is coming to Kiev to the Evangelization , which is going to be on the Kiev’s Stadium ; 6-7-8 of July.
I know that the father of Franklin Graham, Dr.Billy Graham is the ecumenism movement supporter, right ?
What is the theological orientation of the Franklin Graham ?
Is he a Pro-Zionist ?
The follower of chiliasm ?

Is it certain that he is ecumenism supporter too ?
I can not understand this movement in the Evangelical application.
It is possible to unite in somethings but in definite contradictions and the authority problems…

Franklin Graham is cool.

For years, he has run ā€œSamaritan’s Purse,ā€ which is a charitable outreach. IMO, he helps Christians follow Christ’s admonitions to ā€œfeed the poor, clothe the naked, visit the prisoners, etc.ā€

Here’s a link:

The link includes a brief bio of Franklin Graham.

hmm Im sure Billy Graham and Mother Angelica both would disaprove of being compared. 😦

And perhaps it would be kind to allow Mr Graham some grieving tiime as his wife just passed away hardly 2 weeks ago.

Athanasiy

the only way to tell is to go and see what he has to say šŸ™‚ the son is not identical to the dad. He had a different path to God then his dad did. He also can relate to some different people than his dad could because of it.

Billy Graham has always kept the message of the gospel very simple. He is calling to people to recognise Jesus as Lord. The councillors there direct those who accept that message to local churches. Thus both Grahams are evangelists;

Eph 4:11-13 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

A friend of mine from church (Catholic) worked at the last Billy Graham Crusade that was held in Cleveland. She was one of the prayer partners. If someone was a Catholic and made a decision to go back to Christ, that person was told to find a Catholic church. Mr. Graham is definitely no ā€œsheep stealerā€. He wants people who were lapsed and decide to return to the faith to go back to the church that they were from. He considers Catholics to be true Christians, unlike some other Protestant ministers. My friend said that many people joined my parish as a result of Billy Graham’s Crusade. :amen:
