Why do people constantly condemn the Church for it’s stance on birth control but at the same time never say anything about the history of the birth control movement.

Birth control has very racist and classist roots that is often glossed over; for example birth control pioneer Marie Stopes (in the UK) was a firm supporter of eugenics and wanted to use birth control to stop the “undesireables” from breeding, she was often accused of racism and anti-Semitism and sent love letters to Adolf Hitler! She even disinherited her son because he married a woman who wore glasses, in Marie’s eyes the woman wasn’t perfect enough to breed.

Why is this never mentioned in school or the media?

If you were trying to further this cause would you bring up these issues?

I suspect that those who do not favor birth control don’t bring this up to keep the debate focused rather than tangent off on something that took place some time ago. Just spit ballin’.

Because they don’t know the history of the birth control movement and can’t imagine a time in which contraception was illegal and universally deemed immoral.

Because schools are turning out illiterate, uneducated people who lack the skills necessary to participate in a Republic. They lack a sense of civic duty, service to country, and responsiblity as citizens.

They don’t know who Hitler is, but do know who the Foo Fighters are. They don’t know where Nebraska is on a map, but they do know what Paris Hilton wore to the club last night.

Seriously, our Republic is doomed.

Foo Fighters? What the heck is that? Am I showing my ignorance of video games…😊

Because people are selfish and they only think about themselves and therefore anytime someone tells them they shouldn’t be selfish they complain because now they can’t be selfish.
