Thats when you can no longer afford to support your children.

Flowers are self sustaining. Human babies are not.

Mother Teresa is not known for being smart.
And yet she has hundreds of house around the world that is dedicated to helping the poorest of the poor.

How smart are you!? O yes you are the self proclaimed smart @**.😉

Mother Teresa is not known for being smart.
Mother Theresa saw poverty and suffering and did everything she could to alleviate. You see poverty and suffering and respond “get a condom”.

ill leave it to those viewing this thread to determine who is the smart one in this.

sorry, but i go by the literal interpretation that mary had lots of kids. its in your bible.

having many kids was useful in the past. today is another matter.
Not in my bible, or any bible! I know you’re not Catholic, but I wonder when you became a fervent Protestant? Show me where it says “Mary had lots of children” You can’t because it doesn’t. “brothers and sisters” means those of your extended family, town or settlement. You are committing the error of private interpretation yet again. How come you just happened to fall on the Protestant side of the coin? Better to throw your bible away then to warp it to your own ends.

So, you believe that the teaching of morality plays no part in human behavior?

Or maybe they really do want to have kids, in order to have someone to help them. It’s not like they’ve got any other retirement plan. The more kids they have, the better off they’ll be when they get old.
poor people only worry about what to put on the table, and not about retirement. what parent would like to see their child go hungry? there is nothing to help them with.

Thats good. 🙂
you seemed allergic at being indirectly reminded that humans are animals.
No, you are yet again mistaken. I am “allergic” at being told that humans are like a dogs and cannot control their urges.

Thats the philippine government submitting to Catholic Sharia law. Instead of doing the best for the people by educating & financing birth-control, while the country is struggling with poverty.
In another thread, you identified this same picture as being “like” your relatives. Do you say your own relatives would be better off dead?

Contraceptives, Rejected by Government, Are Unaffordable for Many in Majority-Catholic Nation

http://media3.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/photo/2008/04/21/PH2008042101081.jpg
*Maria Susana Espinoza of Manila did not know how birth control worked until after her fourth child was born. Soaring rice prices have focused attention on population growth. *

*Acceding to Catholic doctrine, the government for the past five years has supported only what it calls “natural” family planning. No national government funds can be used to buy contraceptives for the poor, although anyone who can afford them is permitted to buy them. Local governments can also buy and distribute contraceptives, but many lack the money. *

That family looks pretty happy. Would you have the nerve to ask those kids if they would have preferred to not been born?

“brothers and sisters” means those of your extended family, town or settlement.
For me that interpretation isnt logical. There is no rationale or biblical support for why a legally & religiously married couple would abstain from sex. The catholic belief of perpetual virginity is pure opinion.
So, you believe that the teaching of morality plays no part in human behavior?
i think morality is an integral part to human society. but you cannot call “moral” something that causes more harm than good. and prohibiting artificial contraception in this day & age is more harm than good.

Like I said, they were obviously smiling for the camera. When I broke my arm, people were still amazed that i smiled. Inside, i am anything but happy about my predicament.
Would you have the nerve to ask those kids if they would have preferred to not been born?
This is what I would ask them:

Do you like your life now? Or if its possible, would you have preferred being born in the future when the Philippines is already a rich country?

👍 👍

Well, how about a cultural belief? Being a Filipino I am sure you can see this one. As a Hispanic my first cousins are called my brothers and sisters their children are my nephews and nieces. As for your second comment here what makes your opinion (how old are early 20’s?🤷 ) more viable than the Church’s 2000 years?

i think morality is an integral part to human society. but you cannot call “moral” something that causes more harm than good. and prohibiting artificial contraception in this day & age is more harm than good.
So again if this is so true than why hasn’t the world been jumping on this boat since the beginning?

The Phillipines has the only the 63rd highest birthrate in the world. EVERY country with a higher birthrates than them allows contraception. Tha pretty much destroys your argument, doesnt it?

But the choice you are offering them is not “a future when the Philippines is already a rich country.” The choice you are offering them is to not exist at all, or to be murdered before being born.

Not even after being visited by an Angel and receiving a Heavenly vision? After being given a world-changing mission? You reduce the Holy Family to a bunch of lechers! We may be absorbed into 24/7 sex. But, I assure you that those whom God chose and sent His Angels to had a higher purpose than mere sexual satisfaction. If Joseph wanted sexual relations, he would have divorced Mary, which was lawful. Do not judge the highest life forms by the behavior of the lowest life forms!

But, once again, you are using your private morality that you derived from ??? You place your private beliefs above the value of human life itself. By your private morality, Mary would either have been divorced, or had a abortion!

In another thread, you identified this same picture as being “like” your relatives. Do you say your own relatives would be better off dead?
No, like I said they had a good livelihood before it was destroyed by a typhoon. Before they became desperately poor, my sister in-law had her tube tied up. Thats good. Know your limits.

I donlt think anyone who has never existed has every cared about not existing. You have to actually exist before stuff like not existing can bother you.

this is about contraception, not abortion. in your beliefs the soul comes at conception. without conception the soul is still in god’s hand, waiting.

perhaps it would. whats your source?

My point is, if those who live in those conditions do not choose to die or “not exist,” who are we to make the decision for them, or for those who might follow them?
