those are mostly african & muslim countries where women are just learning to use contraception.

can you be a little more specific? a country where contraceptive use is prevalent and yet population growth is still booming?
You made a statment that is patently false. EVERY country ahead of them allows contraception AND the Phillipines has only the 62nd highest Birth rate. If your thesis was correct then the top 10 birthrates should all be Catholic countires-yet the Phillipines is the only Catholic country in the top 65.

the philippines also allow contraception. its just that many are still ignorant about it because our catholic government would not educate people on it.

i’d like to see an actual example.

I have given you the statistics. It is obvious that there is no corealation between birth rates and the availability of contraception.

How about an easy solution? Teach the people how to use NFP. There, problem solved.

And if the lights go out, they can just talk. What do you call what we’re doing here?

I cant see how that would stop Mary & Joseph from falling in love and consummating their marriage. In Judaism having a blood-heir is extremely important. Onan got killed for not making one for his brother, remember?
So you, being neither Jew nor Christian, render your opinion on both religions? If you are a theology student, I will consider that. How many people do you know of, in scripture or anywhere else, who had an Agenl sent from God to speak with them? His name was Joseph, not “Joe six pack”! The Jews lived under stringent regulations which controlled every aspect of their lives. Read Leviticus. Now, just think how a live message from the Almighty might just carry a little weight with them. They did not live in our corrupt culture where sex is worshipped as an end unto itself. They feared God. We fear ED!
they were already engaged before mary got mysteriously impregnated. if Joseph was really a decent guy, it would follow that their engagement involves being in-love. And why would a decent guy divorce the woman he loves?
Take your agnostic 21st century glasses off! They are blinding you to the better side of humanity. That’s why Joseph is a Saint.
its not private. contraception is the policy of many countries.
But not the Philippines! There, it remains your private belief. The Muslims do not use contraception. Why haven’t you gone to a Mosque and argued with them? Go tell them that their Sharia is overpopulating the planet! You decry Catholic ‘Sharia’. Wait until you experience the real thing!

I have given you the statistics. It is obvious that there is no corealation between birth rates and the availability of contraception.
i dont find it obvious since there is no information on their reliance on artificial contraception.

The philippine government had been doing that for decades, to very little effect.
Then why don’t you teach them? You seem to have the position and ability to, I don’t doubt your understanding.
spousal face to face talk leads to touch and touch leads to sex.
I thought we were in the dark? And maybe they could just sit in different parts of the room. And not all talk leads to touch, and not all touch leads to sex.

Are we going to be serious here or what? 😛

I guess they must be in the dark since they have all their kids wih them in the same room…

All that is required is the ability to read, and some personal experience & observation on how romantic relationships work.
How many people do you know of, in scripture or anywhere else, who had an Agenl sent from God to speak with them?
Quite a lot. From the top of my head:

Abraham
Hagar
Lot
Jacob
Moses
Gideon
Elijah
some israelites.

whats your point?

i dont wanna go kaboom

nah the vatican has too much hold on our corrupt politicians. maybe what we need is a little 'French Revolution".
I thought we were in the dark? And maybe they could just sit in different parts of the room. And not all talk leads to touch, and not all touch leads to sex.
WHAT ROOMS? Shanties are often one room dwelling places. Its amazing how people still get to have sex with all the kids around! 😃

🤷

Yes, people live in a mudhouse next to their chickens. They don’t have clothes from the Gap. Food is hard to come by. Education levels are low.

So what’s the solution? Ah, yes, educate them on how to stop having children! And be sure to help Planned Parenthood deploy its little centers all over. Once that birth control starts failing, abortion will become very important.

Am I the only sane person left on the planet? If you saw someone naked, in a mud house, hungry and poor, wouldn’t it make sense to help eradicate the situation?

Oh no, let’s not confront the real issues, such as a mud house, famine, poverty, etc. Let’s just sterilize them.

Am I the only one who will call it as it is?

We bought this dumb idea in America and look what it gets us. Planned Parenthood targets the poor and minorities in our country. Does planned parenthood give them housing? Life skills? Education? A chance at a better life? A safe haven from abusive husbands/partners? No. But have some pills, and when those fail, so long as you have money, PP will kill your child for you!

Yay, we are such charitable people.

Contraceptives, Rejected by Government, Are Unaffordable for Many in Majority-Catholic Nation

http://media3.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/photo/2008/04/21/PH2008042101081.jpg
*Maria Susana Espinoza of Manila did not know how birth control worked until after her fourth child was born. Soaring rice prices have focused attention on population growth. *

*Acceding to Catholic doctrine, the government for the past five years has supported only what it calls “natural” family planning. No national government funds can be used to buy contraceptives for the poor, although anyone who can afford them is permitted to buy them. Local governments can also buy and distribute contraceptives, but many lack the money. *

Thats the philippine government submitting to Catholic Sharia law. Instead of doing the best for the people by educating & financing birth-control, while the country is struggling with poverty.
You’re right. I wish you and I had never been born. We would have been oh so much happier that way…

And from our exalted point of view, it is always better to encourage those disgusting poor people to contracept their own kind out of existence, or if that doesn’t work, abort themselves out of existence

(SARCASM OFF)

So the real solution to the problem is to educate the people. Your solution of producing less of them doesn’t put food on their table. It is an indirect solution that could have many unforseen results…what you need is a more direct solution. Education would advance the economy as well as increase their knowledge of Natural Family Planning.

That being said…people spend the majority of their life being an asset, not a libility. Humans are a resource and the Champions of nations tend to come from the nations that they solve problems for. There is many theories of areas in the world being in fact UNDERpopulated (see www.cato.org) and although you may not see Phillipines as suffering from this…we as outsiders should not constrict a developing nation, as no one did this to us.

Specifically you should read cato.org/pubs/journal/cj7n1/cj7n1-10.pdf … it is an artical that sums up how population planning actually constricts economic development and does not spur it on as you would suggest.

Their lives, and history were changed after the appearance. You still think that Joseph and Mary would disregard that and just carry on like those who had no visitation or vision? The vision caused them to flee to a foreign land! Might that not also affect some other aspects of their lives, or are they just instinct-driven animals? Remember, God gave them reason!
i dont wanna go kaboom
Don’t be a hypocrite! Your truth is the truth and all must hear it! But, with the history of the Moros, you have made a wise choice.

Natural Family Planning doesnt put food on their table either, but why are you promoting it? The end goal is the same as the artificial method.
There is many theories of areas in the world being in fact UNDERpopulated (see www.cato.org)
that only works on paper. until it becomes reality, we should promote family planning.

Joseph & Mary’s lives have changed even though they had many children.

And its reasonable for married lovers to make love. Right? 🙂

The second article is a case study on actual countries not paper! Why not try reading. You say you want reason and not religion and you are very dismissive when someone provides you with an actual argument. It is ironic how you have provided no support for you opinions other than more opinions.
