Bishop: ‘Separation of Biological and Social Gender Is Basic Error of Gender Theory’

REGENSBURG, Germany — The bishop of Regensburg spoke out against “gender theory” in a homily recently made available in English. He chastised the German bishops’ conference for presenting the idea “as being basically compatible with Catholic belief.”
Celebrating the feast of St. Wolfgang, who was bishop of Regensburg from 972 to 994, Bishop Rudolf Voderholzer taught in an Oct. 31 homily that gender theory — the idea of separating biological sex from gender — does not contribute to equality and is ultimately a denial of nature and the goodness of creation. It puts at stake the essence of man and woman, denying their nature as potential fatherhood and motherhood.
A bishop’s pastoral ministry, he said, “includes the duty and the responsibility to act as a guardian, to raise his voice, as necessary, to draw attention to discrepancies or errors, however convenient or inconvenient this may be.”

Sorry. That there is any real difference in how men and women act is a social construct. The biblical social order treated women not much more than property and certainly as second class citizens not capable owning property or being outside the household of a man. If there is a God ordained sex social order then clearly we need to go back to something much like this.

My friends thought this way 25 years ago.

Their two first children were girls.

Then came Patrick. He blew their theory out of the water that the differences in how boys and girls behave is a social construct.

Males and females have different bodies, brains, hormones, etc, which moves them to learn differently and behave differently.

Trying to socially engineer males and females to behave the same is a disaster which will be coming home soon, as the feminzation of the school systems has left boys behind and now in the first time in history, more girls are going on to higher education than boys.

When males feel they have no value as they can’t support a wife and children, they’ll digress into dysfunctional human beings which society is going to have to deal with.

Nonsense.

Women were treated as property until Christianity became dominant. In Christian countries a woman has to give consent to be married, something many pagan cultures did not have. It also made divorce impermissable, kept strict monogamy, and allowed women religious. Oh, and they were far ahead of other cultures in higher learning for women.

Life for 99 percent of people was brutal. The man slaved at his work or the family starved to death. The woman cared for the children and watched many of them perish. This talk of empowerment and liberation would be seen as odd for the people who were just trying to survive.

As for biology, the psychological and physiological differences that happen due to testoserone and estrogen are so well documented that, on that basis alone, to argue there are no differences is delusional.

There are indeed some discernible differences in how girls and boys learn, act, etc. Kids generally have a pretty good idea of which side they fit in however there are those who don’t fit well or at all into their biological box. That is something not so easily swept under the rug.

There are indeed some discernible differences in how girls and boys learn, act, etc. Kids generally have a pretty good idea of which side they fit in however there are those who don’t fit well or at all into their biological box. That is something not so easily swept under the rug.

I don’t think its that kids know where they fit in, but the fact that they’re drawn to certain behaviors naturally.

Sure, there are the exceptions, where a girl will prefer to act like a boy and a boy prefer to act like a girl.

However, our society tries to flip genders upside down through social engineering and creating all situations as being gender neutral. Biology prevents this from being successful.

There is a danger when we try to neutralize genders and we can see it, if we only look close enough.

Personally, I’ll never get use to the idea of sending mothers off fight in combat. I guess I’m old school and too old to change on this issue.

Do you know what some of these endocrine disrupters are? Or their sources? As a side question, is thyroid endocrine or something else? Just the other day, our insurance agent commented that thyroid issues seem much more prevalent than they used to be. He’s not sure if it’s due to more proper diagnosis or if there’s actually an increase. I have a mild thyroid problem.

I shudder to think of what may happen in China and India when a lot of young men come of age and are looking for wives and can’t find any. A lot of young women their age who should have been there were killed off while in the womb or as babies by their elders.

I predicted it would be a problem during China’s one child rule.

Now I understand they’re trying to bring women into the country for fear their men won’t be able to find wives to have children with.

There is nothing in what the bishop is teaching that suggests that the biological nature of gender and the error in modern gender theory results in women being treated as second class, not unless you assume that a women’s physiology is second class, which would be absurd. He is only warning against the new idea of separating gender, as defined biologically, from gender as defined society, especially when the two do not match.
