Are you for real? Obviously, you have no concept of what my signature means and I fail to see a need to quote it in this discussion.“The road to hell is paved with good intentions.”
I have. You simply ain’t gonna make a case that there were women running around with valid holy orders in 400 AD. Try again. And then repent, because this road only leads to bitterness.Read your history.
Vague, unsubstantiated criticisms of the Church really have nothing to do with the topic here. Neither to pedophiles. There is nothing to prevent the women from having their excommunication lifted. All they need do is renounce their heresy. Pope John Paul II proclaimed that all debate on women’s ordination is to cease that the matter is settled. Women are not valid matter for the priesthood. It is something which Catholics do not have freedom to disagree on and remain faithful. Tossing other sinners into the conversation is ridiculous. All can be forgiven.I stated that Canon Law and God’s law seem to get kind of crazy sometimes. It is a simple statement towards Bishop Burke’s use of Canon Law over Gospel. What, exactly, have the women done against the law of God? And what have these priests (rape, molest, and chlid porn) done against the law of God?
The women have earned excommunication but the priests have not.
Jesus spoke of equility, compassion, and justice. The Church has a history of changing it’s stance on the priesthood as well as other injustices (slavery).
Cabin4,I am addressing canon law which allows for the excommunication of the women. I am addressing the issue with the actions given by penal codes (addressing excommunication for the hisdeous actions of child moelsting priests versus women who say they are priests). As has been mentioned, Christ’s church has chnaged it’s mind throughout history. So, is this history repeating itself?
Also, if Bishop Burke has excommunicated the women, is he saying that they are priests?
Actually the Church hasnt changed thats where most people have the biggest problem with the CC. Over 2000 years and still going. Still the same word of God. Now as far as minor decisions that for the Pope to do. And as far as these women being priests isnt that what this is about. The Bishop said NO.I am addressing canon law which allows for the excommunication of the women. Yes, we do, but as of yet the women in question have not availed themselves of the Sacrament of Confession. Moreoever, they have indicated to the media as well as to the Archbishop himself that they are not repentant. So, did all those priests repent? Were they all served letters from Bishop Burke? Bishop Burke is he saying that the women are priests, or are they just sinning women? Don’t we have confession for that as well—sinning?
And the followup dubium which locates JPII’s above teaching in the Deposit of Faith, we see that this is much more than mere quibbling over canon law.Wherefore, in order that all doubt may be removed regarding a matter of great importance, a matter which pertains to the Church’s divine constitution itself, in virtue of my ministry of confirming the brethren (cf. Lk 22:32) I declare that the Church has no authority whatsoever to confer priestly ordination on women and that this judgment is to be definitively held by all the Church’s faithful.
You really are just chasing your tail.We are all asked to be priestly people. All of us, regardless of our “pelvis”.
