SOUTH BEND — For Sunday’s Mass at St. Matthew Cathedral, Roman Catholic Bishop John M. D’Arcy dressed in his vestments for the last time as head of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend.
I feel sad that his 25 year tenure had to end with being at loggerheads with Notre Dame. And then to have Fr. Jenkins publicly state that he was happy with the controversy, just adds more insult to the church.
