You’re playing semantic games. Lay people who attend Mass at an SSPX chapel are not excommunicate nor are the priests who say those Masses.
Ecclesia Dei extends the punishment to “formal adherence” a sspx priest certain meets these requirements, especially if they were ordained by schismatics.
Great. Why don’t you quote Pastor Aeternus too? That’s always a favorite out-of-context quote machine for the SSPX haters.
How was this out of context? I fully cited the source off the sspx webpage.
Oh, okay. As long as it was educated.
Sure, its pretty safe to say there isnt a ratio of 260,000 people PER priest. The sspx Headquarters webpage says there are 463 sspx priests world-wide, if each sspx priest is serving 250 people per Sunday that means there are 116k sspx members world-wide, if each sspx priest is serving 1000 members per Sunday that means there are 463k members world wide.

I consider this an educated guess, if you disagree show me where I went wrong.
Now, how am I supposed to know? Do you know how long it would take to call a quarter billion people? And the cost! Even on nights and weekends! :nope:
Im just trying to figure out where the 120,000,000 number came from and who exactly it is in reference to. I got the impression you were saying there were 120M sspx members…was I wrong? If so, how many sspx members are there world wide in your opinion?

Reading people’s hearts are you now? Wow, I thought only God could do that.

How should I know? I’m a doctor, not a census taker.

Let’s just call it an educated guess.

I, too, am curious: what canonized saints died while excommunicated? I know some saints who were excommunicated, but they were reconciled before death. What saints were excommunicated, but canonized anyway though they died in that state?

I don’t know of any Saints who died when excommunicated by the pope but bishops, and the end of canon law is the salvation of souls.

The end of Canon law is the salvation of souls.

And God dwelleth in any land where there’s a tabernacle with the true presence of Our Lord in the Blessed Eucharist.

Does SSPX have a structure and a hierarchy separate for the Catholic Church?

I have never seen anything that showed that the “Traditionalists” remained inside the church. This is becoming confusing. Everything I have read from all sources showed that the SSPX are a schismatic group that left the church and created their own structures.

If this is so, we don’t need the schismatics to return if it must be on their terms. The Church will not collapse if the schismatics don’t return. We will be just fine, thank you.

Let Fellay and the left of Schismatics return when they are prepared to admit their mistake in leaving in the first place. Let them humble themselves. There are two ways to handle disagreements in the Church, and they chose wrongly.
