On the Third Sunday of Advent, Dec. 11, 2011, Bishop Ronald W. Gainer of Lexington, Kentucky, offered a Pontifical Low Mass with Some Solemnity at St. Peter’s Church in downtown Lexington. The Mass was offered for Regina Pacis Chaplaincy, the apostolate of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter in the diocese. Bishop Gainer was assisted by Fr. John Rickert, FSSP, the chaplain of the apostolate, and Fr. Noel Zamora of the diocese of Lexington. Over 140 people attended, including the Bishop’s mother, and Bishop Gainer generously met and spoke with many people at the dinner held after the Mass. This was the second time the Bishop has offered Mass for the chaplaincy, the previous occasion being for the conferring of Confirmation about two years ago.

More signs of hope within the Church.

You go, Kentucky! Didn’t another bishop there recently ban certain liturgical lay gestures in a return to the more orthodox?

I hope to be able to attend a Pontifical Latin Mass some day. Thank you for the link. 🙂

Wasn’t Kentucky’s Pontifical Latin Mass done because of the changes made to the NAB updating to NABRE? I read in the news the changes to the NABRE would eventually effect the Catholic mass. I think the Kentucky special mass with to usher in those changes for all American Catholics who attend mass. Though I must say, the changes with the NABRE should begin a new era of enlightenment for bible readers. :clapping:
